Overall Pavement Condition : The ride was less than satisfactory. There was extensive cracking.

Overall Treatment Condition : There was extensive block and transverse cracking. Most oftbe cracks were open with slight ravelling along the edges. The was a lot of longitudinal cracking at the centerline. 1/8 inch ruts in the left wheel path and 1/4 inch ruts in the right wheel path were measured north of 102 Tb. St. No rutting was measured north of 32 ND. St. There were isolated areas where some of the MicroSurface has come up. Several of these areas have been patched.

General Comments : This Micro-Surface is in relatively poor condition.

PM Work Type : Micro-Surface PM Work Completed : 1992

Contractor: D. G. Slurry Seal of Toledo, Inc.

Overan Pavement Condition : The ride and overan pavement condition were both satisfactory.

Overan Treatment Condition : The surface is severely cracked with a lot of block cracking. Most ofthe cracks are single , open cracks with no ravelling. There are a number of wider cracked areas that have a minor amount of ravelling. A number of cracks are 1/4 to 1/2 inches wide. There are random longitudinal cracks in the area of the center line and some longitudinal cracking in the wheel path of the outside lane. Both the center line joint and the edge line joint are tight. 1/ 4 inch ruts were measured at both North Down River Rd. and at approximately mile post 257,5. Four areas of delamination were observed. Each area was less than fifteen square feet. The Micro-Surface looked uniform.

General Comments : Micro-Surface was placed on the outside shoulder. There were less cracks in the shoulder area than on the traveled lanes.

Overall Pavement Condition : The ride and overall pavement condition were satisfactory.

Overall Treatment Condition : The longitudinal centerline joint and the edge line joint were not sealed with Micro-Surface mixture. Both of these longitudinal joints were open. Transverse cracks have retlected through the Micro-Surface. The spacing ofthe cracks is approximately fifty feet. Most ofthe transverse cracks are single cracks with a minor amount of secondary cracking and slight crack ravelling. The majority of the cracks were 1/4 inches wide or less. Most of the transverse cracks extended across the full lane width. The following rot depths were measured ; 1/8 inch WB at mile post 139, 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch WB west ofEhn Rd. and 1/4 inch EB at Cooper Rd.

General Comments : The Micro-Surface was placed only in the outside lane in both directions. The shoulders were in good condition.

Overall Pavement Condition : Both the ride and overall pavement condition are good.

Overall Treatment Condition : The surface looks uniform and tight. There was no loss of mix. Several cracks have retlected through the Micro-Surface. Most cracks are tight. There is some secondary cracking at the transverse cracks. No ravelling was observed. The longitudinal joint line was sealed. The cracks in the NB lanes have been sealed by the overhand method. Generally, the underlying cracks have come through the overhand seal. The longitudinal cracks that were sealed are performing better than the transverse sealed cracks. No rutting was measured in the SB outside lane at Manorwood Rd. 1/8 inch ruts were measured in the outside NB lane at Chamg Cross Rd.

General Comments : No Micro-Surface mix was placed on any ofthe auxiliary tum lanes.

Overall Pavement Condition : The ride and overall pavement condition were both satisfactory.

Overall Treatment Condition : The surface is moderately cracked. Most cracks are transverse and extend the full pavement width. The transverse cracks are generally multi cracks approximately 1/4 inches wide with little or no ravelling. The transverse crack spacing is approximately thirty feet. There is random longitudinal cracking in the area of the center line and at the edge line. Both the center line joint and the edge line joint are tight. The shoulder has random longitudinal cracking. The Micro-Surface looks very gray in color. The surface is tight with no observed delamination. No rutting was measured at 0.2 miles north ofPeterville Rd. or Golf Course Rd.

General Comments : This pavement surface bad a lot of full width transverse cracks for a flexible pavement structure.

Overall Pavement Condition : The ride and overall pavement condition were both good.

Overall Treatment Condition : • The surface texture was uniform. The wheel paths were more gray than the remainder of the surface. No loss of mix was observed •. There was a moderate amount of cracking. Most ofthe transverse cracks were short and did not extend across both lanes and were near the center line. There was some alligator cracking also near the center line. The cracks were tight ( less than 1/8 inch wide ) with very little secondary cracking and ravelling. Very little cracking occurred in the middle of the lanes. About thirty percent of the center line joint was open. The edge line was generally sealed. 1/4 inch ruts were measured east of Fenmore Rd. and less than 1/8 inch ruts were measured at Brenam Rd.

Overall Pavement Condition :The ride and overall condition were satisfactory.

Overall Treatment Condition : This fix is experiencing a lot of cracking. Most ofthe cracks are open transverse and block reflective type cracks spaced about ten feet apart and less than 118 inch wide. They are a single type crack with slight ravelling. At the center line, there is a ragged open crack about the entire length ofthe project. No rntting was observed or measured at Vasser Rd. or Bradleyville Rd. The texture of the Micro-Surface was uniform and was adhering to the underlying pavement. The shoulder was is satisfactory condition with some edge cracking.

General Comments: This section ofM-46 may have been too distressed for a MicroSurface fix.
