Michael Brennand-Wood Internationally regarded as one of the most innovative and inspiring artists working in textiles. Michael has explored and developed his own techniques inventing many new and imaginative ways of integrating textiles with other media. Samantha Bryan My current practice is concentrated on illustrative sculpture. Each piece depicts a narrative built around fairy characters. The making process is laborious and commands a unique concoction of materials and techniques. Silver soldering, chemical colouring, hand stitching, clay modelling and whatever else an idea might demand. Lucy Casson My work is inspired by observations of people and animals; their gestures and moods; scenarios and narratives. I work with tin and found objects, using the colour of collected tins in contrast to other materials such as plastic and aluminium objects. The scale of work varies from small pieces to large site specific public commissions using a variety of different materials. Rosie Farey I am a basket maker. The meditative rhythm of weaving is the essence of my practice. I work predominantly on a small scale using natural materials such as Bulrush and Common Juncus to create fine, decorative and functional baskets. Each basket is unique. When I begin to make a basket I never quite know what the final shape will be. The unpredictability of the natural materials means that the final outcome is somewhat dictated by the temperament of the rush.

Victor Stuart Graham I was born next to the sea in Newhaven East Sussex I respect its power, its changing colours and moods. It inspires me immensely. I collect specially selected pieces of

driftwood that have an inherent boat shape trapped within their form. All I do is then release the boat. Victor trained as a graphic designer, he followed this with an Master of Arts Degree in Textiles at the Royal College of Art Since then his work has taken many diverse forms, his work is entirely dictated by his materials, a challenge which he enjoys.

Neil Hardy invites sometimes very simple and sometimes extremely complicated mechanisms to make his automata work with humour, artistic claim and technical refinement. This often means a whole chain of different movements are launched. His picture world is filled with irony of tiny amazing stories. Each of the objects invites for interaction.

Helen Noakes The miniature scale models (commonly used on model railways) quickly become the surprising focal point for Helen’s beautifully executed work, all of which is hand crafted from precious metals and resin. Intriguingly tucked into each infinitely wearable piece is an element of humour making a second look a must for this exciting collection. Now exhibiting worldwide as well as featuring in several books Helen incorporates everything from penguins to circus performers

The St.Legers have been working as miniaturists for 35 years creating high quality dollshouse miniatures and miniature automata for the discerning collector. Jill Shaddock Having graduated in 3- Design from Manchester School of Art in 2011, I set up my own ceramics studio. Now located in West Yorkshire where I design and make each piece of my ceramics by hand. Fascinated by process and enhancing a technique associated with mass production, I explore multilayered slipcasting to create unique objects. These take the form of individual pieces and collections of curated works, which blur the boundaries between the usable and the purely decorative. With a minimal aesthetic, considered forms and refined colour palette, the work is highly tactile

and the considered simplicity gradually draws attention to the subtle details.

Yuta Segawa is a Japanese ceramic artist specialising in producing miniature pottery. He learned high ceramic skills in Japan and China and developed these skills into techniques for making miniature pots in London. All miniature pots are individually thrown by hand and Yuta uses more than five hundred original, hand-made glazes. Miniature pottery relates to the issue of the relationship between artists’ bodies and their works. It is a challenge to

test the limits of what a human body can make on such a small scale.

Jessica Turrell I trained in jewellery and enamel at Central School of Art, London. On graduation I set up a studio in my home city of Bristol. Over recent years I have undertaken a sustained period of research into mark-making using non-traditional enamel techniques. The ‘field’ series explore the subtle and delicate variations and subversions that occur through the action of hand drawing each of the hundreds of repeated marks that cover the etched surface. I then use enamel in a way that creates a surface quality reminiscent of a tactile drawing on paper. Barbara Webster I am an innovative jeweller, working with precious metals. My pieces are often etched and oxidised. I particularly enjoy creating figurative pieces often with details in gold. Scenes of both the city and countryside are reinterpreted with a contemporary edge. I enjoy working to commission to provide something special and unique.
