one common thread between singPost and singapore botanic gardens (sbg) is their rich heritage which spans 150 years. Another is how both organisations have been an integral part of every singaporean’s life.

so it was a special joint stamp launch that took place on 19 June 2009 to commemorate the sbg’s 150th year. singPost invited its esteemed customers to the event, followed by a sumptuous meal at the gardens to thank them for their support. the customers enjoyed the tour of the orchid garden and the lunch, leaving with a special Flora and Fauna stamp set and sbg’s 150th Anniversary First Day Cover.

Giving a Hand to More Needy Families For a period of one year starting from this June, 50 needy students in evergreen Primary school can look forward to monthly food goodie bags sponsored by singPost under the Food goodie bag (Fgb) Programme. this is an extension of singPost’s support for its adopted charity, Food from the Heart.

Mr Johnny Chan, singPost’s Assistant Vice President for Corporate Administration, said: “It is really a small effort on our part but I think it is appreciated by the elderly citizens. while walking them home, we try to chat with them and I know that some of them welcome the company.”

SingPost Delivers HUGE Surprise

As the official logistics Provider for the inaugural brooks republic run, singPost picked up sponsored items, oversaw the packing and distribution of race packs, and managed the baggage deposit service. the most eye-popping sight was delivered by speedpost - a gigantic speedpost box containing the top lucky draw prize of a Chevrolet spark.

Many of singPost’s staff also enthusiastically signed up for the charity run jointly organised by the nam Hong welfare service society, republic Polytechnic, northwest CDC and singapore College of traditional Chinese Medicine. Funds raised will go towards providing free medical services to the needy.

As the Main Partner for wwJ, singPost also sponsored t-shirts as goodie bag items and raised funds for HwA through pledge cards. the donations will go towards funding HwA’s programmes which include rehabilitation therapy and transport services for the disabled.
