AM - Strategic AM Policies

• MFOA is working with a consultant to develop templates that meet the requirements set out in the prototype AM regulation.

• The templates are being tested by 10 volunteer municipalities of varying sizes and locations.

• Final generic templates, tailored policies, case studies, and a manual will be available for free on the MFOA website for member municipalities.

• Target Completion: 2 months after the regulation is released

AM - Webpage

MFOA will be working with AMONTario to •develop and maintain a curated webpage of carefully selected AM resources.

It is anticipated that the resources will be •accompanied by short commentaries to help municipalities locate the information they need on a timely basis.

Temporary Municipal Finance Professional

• A program to link qualified municipal finance professionals with municipalities looking to fill financial positions on a part-time or temporary basis.

Role of the Treasurer – Update

• “Serving to Your Potential - Enhancing Strategic Influence in the Treasurer's Office” has been a popular resource for members since 2009.

• MFOA is currently updating the document to reflect the new realities of municipal treasurers and other financial officers.

• Stay tuned for its release.

Property Tax Monograph - Update

• "Property Taxation in Ontario: A Guide for Municipalities" serves as a primer and high level introduction to property taxation in Ontario.

• A lot has changed since its publication in 2012

• Target completion: 2018
