Metropol Office Bellini Collection

Mario Bellini is an architect and designer. To him, the design of a room is just as important as each individual workplace. This is why Metropol is not only functional, it is also important that the combination of multiple workplaces produces a clear, aesthetic environment.

Metropol Design Mario Bellini with Dieter Thiel

Metropol is a collage of forms and materials. It is based on a simple table. Individual elements can be added above, to the sides, and underneath the work surface. Metropol is suited for pri-vate and team offices, as well as for executive offices.

Metropol Components

Table top and add-on elements create clarity and order in the workplace. The technology shelf introduces a third level. Shelves and tablets above the table can be used to accommodate technical equipment, docu-ments, and lighting. Add-on tables can be connected to the main table for meetings or additional work surfaces. This keeps the work surface free. The individual table top and add-on elements are put together individually for each workplace. They can be easily mounted and can be modified by the user.

Metropol Concept

Flexibility is an important characteristic of Metropol. The workplace is not a static unit, but a combination of variable and fixed elements. They can easily be exchanged and expanded as the need arises. Each element has specific meaning and belongs to a specific category: work (active), inform (passive), and communi-cate (interactive). As a consequence of this the functions are clearly defined.

Active

The work level. For writing, reading, and processing information. The work surface offers ample space.

Interactive

The communication level. The add-on table is reserved for meetings and receiving visitors.

Passive

The information level. Files, documents, and technical equipment are stored on the technology shelf forming a third level.

Metropol Functions Metropol makes handling technology easy and under- standable. No special tools are required to make changes or add on elements. Access to power from the floor outlet is provided through a flexible cable leading to the table.

The Metropol tables are personalised workplaces. All of the table surfaces can be individually adjusted in height and angle. They can easily be raised and pulled forward. The spacious cable tray is located underneath. All technical equipment is connected here, and excess cables are stored here as well. The third level with the accessories is positioned above the work surface.
