Metro Gang Strike Force Mission

“The MGSF is hereby established by the Parties to coordinate efforts to prevent gang activity; and investigate, apprehend and prosecute those individuals engaged in such crimes which could be defined as gang related or crimes committed for the benefit of a gang.”

• May 20, 2009 Office of Legislative Auditor Report released

• MGSF had internal control failures related to:

- Seized Cash & Personal Property

- Oversight of checking and informant accounts

- Following State’s forfeiture procedures

- Distribution of proceeds to AG’s Office

• July 1, 2009 MGSF temporarily shut down….never re-opened
