    To define the method of installation of hangers and erection of fire protection pipes to be employed to

    ensure that the first fix works to be undertaken on site are complying with the following and Civil defense

    approved MEP services coordinated shop drawings.

    1.! SCOPEAND APPLICATION OF *OR+

    This method statement is applicable for hose rack and fire sprinkler fire protection systems employing the

    approved materials.

    This method statement also focuses within site materials inspection/ installation/ testing and

    commissioning method to ensure that the fire protection systems supplied/ installed/ inspected and tested

    for the works is in accordance with pro#ect reuirements. The work method summari*es into the following0

    1.!.1 Preparation works

    1.!.! %elivery/ inspection and storage of hanger supports/ pipes/ threaded fitting and grooved fittings.

    1.!.( nstallation of hanger supports and laying of painted pipe as per the approved shop drawing.

    ,. ndividual pipe sections shall be taken to the installation location. The pipes shall be transported either by

    trolley or roller or manual or site mobile crane.

    -. Pipes are then lifted to the reuired location and level. Position and tighten the pipe supports to firmly

    hold the pipes.

    @. The pipes will be checked for initial level and position and if necessary ad#ust on the pipe support.

    1A. The pipes and fittings shall be #oin as described below011. Threaded pipes and fittings0 nstall few strands of #ute yarn and wind around the threaded end of pipes.

    nsert the threaded pipe ends to screwed fittings and tighten the pipe firmly using a spanner. Check the

    piping for proper alignment. "d#ust the level if necessary.

    1!. 9rooved pipes and fittings0 "pply a thin layer of lubricant to neoprene rings of the grooved fittings. nsert

    the grooved pipe into fitting. Tighten the bolts to firmly #oint pipe and fittings. Check for alignment and

    ad#ust if necessary.

    1&. "ny minor changes to supports and pipe work will be carried out according to local conditions these

    changes will be immediately red color marked on the relevant drawings/ for future references on complete

    package hand over.

    1(. "ny ma#or changes or alterations to support or pipe work runs will reuire a consultation with

    Contractor5Consultant 5 %esign department and change reuest to be raised to amend the problem area

    after approval from concerned authority.
