is November 19. Thank you to all who come to

support and pray at the Shrine regularly and to

the pilgrimages during this past year. We hope

to see you again in 2018.

November 21 & 22 No Mass. Communion service only.

Message of the Week

Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

Why does the master call the two servants “good

and faithful”? Because, when entrusted with a

vast amount of money, they do not run off or

spend the money on themselves. Rather they in-

vest what was given them as their way of revering

their relationship with their master. His reply is,

“Since you were faithful, I will give you great re-

sponsibilities. Come, share my joy.” Which

means: Come, and be my equal. The worthy wife

is valued “far beyond pearls” because she loves

her husband and family with just such gratuitous,

self-sacrificing love. We are “children of the

light” inasmuch as we have been given all surpas-

sing Master and the chance to glorify him by our

obedience.

¿por qué el maestro llama a los dos siervos

"buenos y fieles"? Porque, cuando se les confía

una gran cantidad de dinero, no se escapan o

gastan el dinero en sí mismos. Más bien

invierten lo que les fue dado como su forma de

venerar su relación con su maestro. Su

respuesta es, "puesto que usted era fiel, yo le

daré grandes responsabilidades." Ven, com-

parte mi alegría. Lo que significa: ven, y se mi

igual. La esposa digna es el valor "mucho más

allá de las perlas" porque ella ama a su marido y

a su familia con un amor tan gratuito y egoísta.

Somos "hijos de la luz" en la medida en que se

nos ha dado todo maestro sobrepasando y la

oportunidad de glorificarlo por nuestra obedi-

encia.
