MOPS MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) starts this Tuesday. It will meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays every month from 9-11:30 a.m. Volunteers (Moppets) to help with the children are needed!

UM MEN FELLOWSHIP HOUR

We need some “new” VOLUNTEER hosts to help continue our FELLOWSHIP TIME. If you are MOVED in that direction, please see Chuck Bennett or Bill Porter.

SUNDAY HELPERS NEEDED We need adults to sit in the lower level hall outside of the children ’s rooms during Sunday School (10:00-10:45 a.m.) We need at least one female and one male volunteer each week to be present in case a teacher or a child needs assistance. Find the updated sign-up sheet on the lobby table, and please sign up!

SYMPATHY Our thoughts and prayers go to Doris Gross and family in the passing of her sister a week ago Friday.

Also our thoughts and prayers go to Steve and Nancy VanWagoner and family in the passing of their sister-in-law last Sunday.

OUTREACH Your donations provided food for 51 meals at our Food for Families dinner, food for 42 people from our Food Pantry and items for 52 people from our Paper and Personal Needs Pantry. LOVE INC BENEFIT DINNER Love INC (In the Name of Christ) is asking local churches to make baked goods for their October 19

th Fall

Fundraiser Dinner. The plan this year is to have each church, group their desserts together to set up friendly competition amongst the local churches.

TODAY’S ALTAR FLOWERS

The flowers on the altar today are provided by Carolyn & Ron Starking, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, September 16, 1967.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL A new Adult Sunday School class begins TODAY. It is a DVD series entitled “The Pressure is Off” by Shane Willard. The class will meet at 10:00 am in the North Parlor, and all adults are welcome!

YOUTH GROUP The youth meet on Sundays from Noon-2 p.m. and Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m. Dinner is served at the meetings. Both meetings are in the Youth room. COME!

SUNDAY EVENING STUDY “Follow” is an eight week study by Andy Stanley. It starts TODAY at 6:30 p.m. in the North Parlor. Dale Ward, Evangelism Committee Chair, is the discussion leader. It is not too late to sign up and join!

TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY Our Bible Study on “Agents of Babylon” by David Jeremiah (book of Daniel) will begin THIS Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Room 202. If you would like to join us, please call Vivian DeRiemaker at 810-688-2340 so a study guide can be ordered for you. Hope to see you soon!

WEDNESDAY GRIEF CLASS A Grief Support group is starting THIS Wednesday at 4 p.m. in the North Parlor. The group leader is Nancy Lagalski (810-730-0691). This series is for anyone experiencing a loss. The classes will include video, discussion and support based on the book “Beyond the Broken Heart.” We encourage people to repeat the class as we can find ourselves in different phases as time passes.

HURRICANE RELIEF: If you would like to give financial support to the hurricane victims, please put your donation in one of the pink offering envelopes found in the pew racks and write “hurricane relief ” on the envelope and in the memo line on your check. 100% of the donations given to The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) makes it to the project, since the administrative costs come from other UM funds.
