Welcome to our second edition of THE PUPILS’ NEWSLETTER. We were thrilled when we found out that we were
going to be involved in the second Newsletter, it was such a great experience the first time. Our class teacher,
Madame Williams told us to keep the same layout to remain consistent with our original style but with the
addition of an Easter theme. We contacted our Deputy Head, Miss Brown, to discuss the newsletter content,
layout and deadline. Miss Brown spoke to the whole class and congratulated us on our first edition. We hope that
you will enjoy reading some grumpy anecdotes from our Grump
Team or the Ghost stories from our Mystic Team. Our expert team
of journalists interviewed a teacher from our school, but can you
find out who is this mystery guest? Great prizes which include an
Easter hamper, which will be won for solving all of our mysteries
and puzzles! Please share all your
comments on our twitter page.
The Management Team (Kayleigh, Kirsty, Sophie and Owen)
Message from the Management Team
Rumours have been going on that our Tegfan
unit, currently based in the Science block, is
going to move into a different location within
our school. Staff and pupils at Rhosnesni were
starting to be scared about the things that were
going on in there. There have been many
complaints that it is always cold in the area,
some also felt that someone is watching them.
But it’s not only there that bizarre things have
been happening! Once we came into our
classroom and there were three chairs stacked
on each other! Many paranormal activities have
going on in the school throughout the years.
Once, during the summer holidays the security
alarm went off in the school. The security staff
had to be called in to check doors and windows
and to check if any intruder had entered the
building. They found nothing. They decided to
check the CCTV cameras and something very
chilling was seen. The fire exit door by the
English corridor strangely opened by itself. This
could not have happened with the wind or draft
as the fire door can only be opened from the
inside, furthermore, to open it, a substantial
amount of force has to be applied to the
opening bar. To this day, there has never been a
logical or scientific explanation for this door to
open by itself.
MYSTIC TEAM
It can run but it never walks, it
has a mouth but never talks, it
has a bed but never sleeps?
Imagine you are in a room, no
doors, windows or anything,
how do you get out?

Is this true?
On March 3rd Rhosnesni High School participated in the World Book
Day event, which was celebrated in style with our teachers dressing
up for the occasion. Some of our teachers were dressed as characters
from books that they liked such as The Mad Hatter, The Cat In The
Hat, Lady Macbeth and Nora from Hush Hush. We enjoyed being
taught by Maleficent, Peter Pan, a nun and a even a vampire!
At the end of February our Readathon Competition started! This
reading competition is organised between classes of Year 7 and 8 to
encourage us to read more books and raise money for charities
looking after seriously ill children across the United Kingdom.
How many triangles are there?
Let’s see how smart you are!
We would like to
thank James and
Seren for taking the
time to speak to us and answer our questions.
James and Seren are our role models and we are
proud to have had the opportunity to interview
them for our newsletter.
OUR HEAD
BOY JAMES
CLEVERLEY &
HEAD GIRL
SEREN
EDWARDS
Seren, what was your reaction when you first found out
that we were going to be a Head Girl?
I was relieved because of the hard work that I put into
the school throughout the years but I was also shocked
because I was not too sure that I would get it.
What job would you like to do when you leave school?
I would like to become a Primary School Teacher. I like
to work with young children.
Are you happy to be Head Girl, why?
Yes I am because I get to represent the school on a
regular basis and it is also good for my career prospect.
Do you enjoy working with James Cleverley?
Yes I do, he is very organised!
What are the GCSE subjects that you have chosen?
I chose to do Music, Health and Social Care and Child
Development. I love music, I play the piano, the cornet,
the drums and also the guitar!
The little things that grind your gears! Our team of “professional moaners” is forever finding
things in life that really grind your gears. We get very
grumpy when we come back from school, starving and
looking forward to a tasty snack but when you get home
and open the cupboard your mum has left no snack for
you! #grrrr. Or when you put warm and thick clothes on
before going outside and then it gets so warm that you
either have to get changed, get late to school, or worse,
having to carry your coat around everywhere the whole
day! Which will get you even hotter! #rage. Adults just
never get it when us teens throw a fit. Well, we throw a
fit because we are too lazy to speak and when we are
rolling our eyes it means we are connecting to the WI-FI!
Why is it that in the canteen the staff ALWAYS move the
things around? # whereismypizza.
And never go to the supermarket hungry, you always
end up buying crisps, biscuits, pies that you would never
have bought otherwise and you will end up with no
money for the bus!
Do you have any anecdotes that grind your gears?
Please let us know!
Easter Jokes Laugh out loud!
What do you call a bunny with a large brain?
What day does an Easter egg hate the most?
Why was the little girl sad after the race?
What do you get if you pour boiling water down a rabbit hole?
Egghead.
Fry-days.
Because an egg beater!
A hot cross bunny.
What happened to the egg when he
was tickled too much?
Why was the rabbit rubbing
his head?
He cracked up.
Because he had a eggache!

Who are we?
THE RHS GHOSTS Another gruesome story from our Ghost Hunters!
The following recount is based on a true story. The
witnesses to this event are unfortunately no longer in con-
tact, but our team of Ghost Hunters found notes left in an
old desk and have pieced together the entire story.
From the notes and pictures that we found, the teacher in
question was a Michael Jackson fan who decided to visit
Michael Jackson’s house in California. It appeared that the
mansion had no other visitors at the time but the security
guard at the entrance told him the following: “Be careful,
you are not alone”. The inquisitive teacher decided to walk
in the rooms upstairs and started talking to a mystery man
in the mirror…. He then heard a voice behind him telling him
to “just beat it”...Scared, the teacher ran off and told the
Security Guard: “someone was watching me”. When he
came back to Rhosnesni and told the story to his colleagues,
they told him it must have been a thriller. The only person
who believed his story was his friend who told him: “This is
it Billie, we are almost there”. The teacher was left
bewildered by the whole event...
