Alice decided to hold a Yard sale on her front pavement, selling her old toys, books and clothes (and some random goods no longer needed) with 50% going to Macmillan. She repeated it the next day.

She did brilliantly! Confidently chatting with passers by, their families (and dogs!) convincing them that they really needed a puzzle, Bath toy…. Or a Soft toy for their pet (!) and raised £87.50 for Macmillan - and £87.50 for her savings account.

Visits

It is important to us that we understand the unique ethos of The Cavendish School so as to better recognise the

needs of your families. We would therefore welcome an opportunity to visit your school, meet some of your girls

and staff, and to find out what makes special!

Roedean would also like to offer you the opportunity to see our School truly in action, so that you can report back

to your families about the friendly, vibrant and dynamic atmosphere here at Roedean School.

If you would like a visit to Roedean – which would include a tour with some of our girls as well as a meeting with

the Headmaster, Oliver Blond – or feel that a visit to your school would be beneficial, please do let me know by re-

turn email and I would be delighted to begin making arrangements.

Experience Days – Year 6

This term, we have two Experience Days scheduled, which we invite your Year 6 girls to attend. We will be welcom-ing both whole cohorts from Prep schools, as well as individual bookings. Please do pass to your Head of Year 6, or be in touch with myself or Alexa Barlow, Registrar, [email protected], by return email if you would like to book girls on to one/both of the Experience Days outlined below. STEM Festival – 12th October – 09.30am

Roedean girls love STEM! This is a taster of the activities that have our girls hooked on Science, Technology, Engi-

neering and Maths, with a special virtual visit from Dr Suzie Imber, our STEM Ambassador and Professor of Space

Physics at Leicester University.

England Hockey – 4th November – 09.30am

This is a unique opportunity to attend a professional hockey masterclass led by an England Hockey player, training

and playing on Roedean’s all-weather hockey pitch. Our last Hockey Experience saw us welcome to Roedean Kate

Richardson-Walsh who was captain of the women’s England Hockey Squad for 13 years, captaining them to their

first Olympic Gold Medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics. You are welcome to send a full Hockey Squad, or individuals

with a passion for Hockey.
