    of Merritts new $4.74 million Fire Zoneoffice & provincial training facility.The 14,300 sq. ft. building brings not

    only improved facilities to Merritt, but anew addition to the valleys architecturalinventory. The building design is contem-porary & functional, featuring full-heightwindows and exciting new wood construc-tion technology cross laminated timberpanels and glue-lam components for a

    bright, open & highly flexible space.It will house Merritts 58 Wildfire Mgt

    Branch staff, and with its proximity tothe airport, can be quickly transformedinto a full Fire Centre if needed.

    The Training Centre expects to host300-500 trainees per year. And the spring

    boot camps will return to Merritt in 2014.The property is leased by the Prov

    Govt from the City of Merritt for 25 years,with an option to renew for another 25.
