    Pedestrian diesOn Dec. 1st, approx. 7:15pm, Merritt

    RCMP & members of the Central InteriorTraffice Service attended a single vehi-cle/pedetrian collision at Charters St. &Nicola Ave. An 81-year old Merritt manwas struck by a vehicle as he crossed thestreet. He was transported to NVGH,where he succumbed to the injuries re-ceived in the collision. CITS is conduct-ing the investigation in conjunction withthe BC Coroner Services. The name of thevictim is being withheld pending notifi-

    cation to next of kin.

    Judged. But the 400 tickets were sold out& the show was like nothing before heldin Merritt! While 19 Merritt men turnedout for the competition, Danny Moseswon. He was hands-down the most

    beautiful & talented! Even if a bit edgy that didnt detract the judges fromcrowning him Mz Judged 2012! (Al-though, all the contestants were great!)

    The event was an unmitigated successfor Nicola Family Therapy as afundraiser & an awareness event for theIntl White Ribbon Campaign, where

    men speak out in creative ways againstmens violence against women.Nicola Family Therapy is already

    $30,000 for Community Energy Plan-ning, as part of the BC Govt's First Na-tions Clean Energy Business Fund(FNCEBF) to help 10 First Nations com-munities pursue clean-power options.Nooaitch will consider the community'sexisting infrastructure, local renewableenergy resources, strategic vision of sus-tainability and goals for the future.

    This funding is from the 5th call for

    FNCEBF applications, with $764,600 dis-persed to projects all across the province.The next intake of applications closes onFeb. 28, 2013.
