light side and -290˚f in the dark side. The
diameter of mercury is 3,032 miles and the
circumference is 9,530 miles.
Mercury has no moons. It is 35,983,000
miles from the sun.
The closest they get is 77 million miles apart.
The farthest they get is 222 million miles. It
takes Mercury 176 days to rotate one time.
It takes 88 days for mercury to revolve around
the sun. Mercury is named after the speedy
messenger of the gods mercury.
• Only two space crafts have visited mercury
