When the BMW M3 Sport Evolution was released for DTM homologation, Mercedes Benz respond-ed in March 1989 with the 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution debuted at the Geneva Auto Show to enthusias-tic acclaim. Despite the 190 being produced with many different power units, it is the cars fitted with the 2.5 litre that are most coveted and only teh Power Pack version is desired by motoring enthusiasts and collectors. In the car on offer here today, this fabulous engine is mated to the highly sought-after automatic transmission. It has everything – great looks, great engine and great performance – and a legendary motorsport re-cord to go with it. Only 502 units of the Evolution model were produced for homologation in compli-ance with DTM rules of a minimum of 500 units of production.Only 60 of them were fitted with AMG Power Pack.

Power Pack option engineered by AMG was avail-able separately for the considerable sum of DM 19,000. This expensive & rare option included longer duration & higher lift camshafts, a larger throttle body, more aggressive ignition and fuel management as well a beautifully crafted tubular exhaust manifold & stainless steel exhaust sys-tem. With these improvements, power increased to 225 bhp @ 7200 rpm & Torque at 240 Nm at 5500 rpm. The rev limit was further raised 7,700 rpm. 0-100 km/h (62 mph) via the Getrag to dog-leg gearbox was dispatched in 7.1 sec. AMG Pow-erpack equipped models were quoted to give a top speed of 236 kmh (146 mph).

Production numbers: The car that we offering is super rare.This fully restored EVO I is one of the limited 60 which had AMG Power pack and only 1 and only was automatic!

BACKGROUND: 800 Kms before restoration. We put in 1430 work-ing hours in the part restoration and new parts were built in in the value of 25,000 EUR + VAT.

CONDITION:The car had only 800 km original mileage, before a full restoration. It was fully restored to the last screw and everything is documented. We done only 90 test kilometers with the car so practically it is brand new. It is perfect in every way & fully ready for use by its future owner. A true modern classic motorcar that has had star quality from day one.

Highly collectable - Naturally Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution-1’s are now strongly sought after. These rare cars (Evo 1 is more than Evo 2) will only continue to rise in value steadily over time but realistically, for cars that have been used on European roads few will remain in preserved condition but none of them are Automatic and none of them were restored. Only few of the very best examples will rise the highest in value amongst se-rious collectors who know the market.
