1. Control:Involvestheextenttowhichindividualsfeelincontroloftheirlivesandcircumstances,aswellashowonecontrolstheiremotions.
2. Commitment:Describeshowcommittedanindividualistocompletesetgoals.3. Challenge:Theextenttowhichsomeonewillpushtheboundaries,embracechange,and

Thereareseveralmethodsthatcanbeusedtodealwiththestresses/difficultiesoflifeanddevelopmentaltoughness.Acommonfocusofthesemethodsrevolvearoundtheideaofcontrol.Tryingtocontrollife’scircumstancesandpreventingbadthingsfromhappeningthroughcontrollingyourresponsestobadsituations.Yourresponsesthenplayintothedesiretobuildself-confidenceandachievepersonalgoals.Thoughmanymethodshaveaself-controldrivenfocus,sometimeslifecannotbecontrolledandtryingtocontrolitleadstofurtherproblems.Whenthisisthecaseitmaybebeneficialtoseekhelpindealingwithlife’sproblemsratherthantryingtocontroleveryaspectofourworldsindividually.
