Thanksgiving is fast approaching and the Flagler Humane Society we’re looking
to our community to provide a cornucopia of food to support the many animals in
our shelter. We are always thankful for the donations of food, but right now we
are especially low in our supply and are in need of replenishing. While you’re
shopping for your Thanksgiving meals, please think of the animals at our shelter.
We also need many supplies other than animal food, and donations such as office
and cleaning supplies are always welcome.
FHS would also like to say that we are thankful for all of the families that have
adopted this past year from the shelter. You save a life each time you adopt a
rescue cat or dog. We are so thankful that we can be in the business of saving
lives and that we have the support of the community to make it happen!
Outreach Event Updates: FHS was recently invited to the Elan Hair Studio for
their annual anniversary parking lot party! We were excited to be involved and
enjoyed the free food and entertainment. The last of our litter of puppies found a
home along with a black cat that had been at the shelter for a few months.
FHS partnered with Zaxby’s and PetSuperMarket for a joint Rezcue Event! The
event was held at Zaxby’s, where we sold meal deal tickets that helped feed the
homeless animals of Flagler County. The Big Red Bus was on hand to take blood
donations, and donators were given a free movie ticket and a coupon for a free
sandwich from Zaxby’s. Thanks for all those that came out to support both the
Humane Society and the blood bank.
Public Announcements: The Flagler Humane Society has a variety of
subsidized spay and neuter programs for members of the community that need to
have their pets sterilized. Please call FHS at 386-445-1814 or email
[email protected] for general questions, or email
[email protected] for grant-specific questions that we can be of
assistance to you.
Animals for Adoption: FHS currently has an overabundance of cats available
for adoption, and we have a great need for people who are willing to welcome a
furry friend into their lives and homes. Check our website,
www.flaglerhumanesociety.org, for upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas
Adoption Specials.
Classroom Pocket Pet Program: Do you know of a teacher that would like to
have a classroom pet? FHS is now offering free adoptions of pocket pets that are
surrendered for adoption. Please contact [email protected] or
386-445-1814 ext. 501 for more information. This program is a great way to
place an animal in a forever home and teach students about responsibility and
self-confidence. FHS currently has 9 small breed rabbits and 2 hamsters
available.
314 cats 66 dogs 6 ferrets 9 rabbits 2 hamsters
Animals ready for homes
Remember Healy? This lovely little tortoiseshell cat, who grew up in
the Shelter since arriving in March, finally found
her forever home when she was adopted the week
following her being the Featured Pet. We love
happy endings!

homeless animals can be found on our
website, www.flaglerhumanesociety.org.
CHARLIE
Charlie is a sweet 6 month old
kitten that is looking for an active
home that can keep up with him.
He was brought to the shelter as a
stray baby that went immediately
into a foster home due to his size.
He was spoiled by his foster mom
and was fostered with 2 other
kittens from another litter. He is
good with other cats and very
lovable. He is ready and waiting
for his next new adventure. He is
hoping that it is going to be with
you! Come and meet Charlie
today!
