EcoprocessTM MBRThis system consists of a biological process and a filtration process. The fine bubble aeration system provides the oxygen needed to biodegrade oxidizable pollutants that are converted into activated sludge. The submerged membranes ensure ultrafiltration and act as a physical barrier that retains pathogenic organisms and suspended solids.

Primary treatmentThe primary treatment consists of a first phase decanting (a septic tank, for example) or appropriate mechanical straining.

Equalization tank (when required)An equalization tank may provide a more economical process flow when major flow variations are involved.

EcoprocessTM MBR treatment system

Cost effective treatment technologyThe pores on an ultrafiltration membrane are 1 500 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. This low molecular weight cut-off provides a physical barrier that ensures process performance and stability.

Automated disinfection below 10 CFU/100 mL levels and phosphorus levels below 0.1 mg/L of can be achieved.

The unique configuration of EcoprocessTM MBR provides the smallest required space to treate effluent volume ratio.

High performance, compact designs and long-term reliability are key benefits of EcoprocessTM MBR.

Treatment optionsReduction of total nitrogen: EcoprocessTM MBR can be sized to ensure denitrification.Total phosphorus elimination: A dosing unit is added to the EcoprocessTM MBR system.

DischargeThe high quality effluent is suitable for direct surface discharge. The effluent can also be re-used when environmental standards permit it.

Proven membrane technology

Robust assembly• Laminate layer over the entire filtration surface

• Self-supporting membrane – no rigid support to hold it in place

• Protective housing allowing optimal hydraulic cross-flow around the membranes

• Completely open top and bottom – no restriction to the movement of the mixed liquor, no risk of silting

• Centralized permeate drainage pipe, ensuring optimal and uniform transmembrane pressure

Easy operation and maintenance• Cleaning option allowing:

» Diminution of frequency of dipping cleaning » Diminution of chemical product use » Diminution of the complexity and effort required for interventions » Increase in the expected lifetime of membranes » Elimination of complex and systematic use of periodic chemical backwash

• Cleaning in place (CIP)

• Chemical backwash only if necessary or required

Modular design • Several packaging options available – ideal for expansion phases

• Ready-to-use units that can be shipped to site

• Mobile units available in various containers (steel, plastic, others)

Optimized process • Control unit provides various operational options – adapts to real-time flow changes

• Remote telemetry available

Installations

Mobile Homes and RV Park ContextThe construction of a new RV park required the installation of a multi-phase treatment system. A system by infiltration would require too much space, which would have reduced the number of sites available. EcoprocessTM MBR technology was selected for its compactness and high performance capabilities able to respect the strictest effluent norms.

Criteria• Daily flow: 47,550 gpd (180 m3/d)• Effluent requirements: CBOD5: 5 mg/L, TSS: 10 mg/L, CF: < 200 CFU/100 mL• Minimum temperature: 46 °F (8 °C)

Seasonally Operated CampgroundContextThe upgrade of an existing system was required to rehabilitate a disposal field. The compactness of EcoprocessTM MBR technology rendered this solution a high-return investment for owners who could now benefit from a number of additional camp sites.

Criteria• Daily flow: 19,450 gpd (73.6 m3/d)• Effluent requirements: CBOD5: 5 mg/L, TSS: 10 mg/L, Ptot: < 0,1 mg/L, CF: < 200 CFU/100 mL• Minimum temperature: 46 °F (8 °C)

Workers Camp ContextThe project required a modular and compact system well adapted to the company’s expansion plans and needs for simple and rapid installations performed in difficult conditions.

Criteria• Daily flow: 150,600 gpd (570 m3/d)• Disposal: CBOD5 5 mg/L, TSS: 10 mg/L, Ptot: < 0,3 mg/L, CF: < 200 CFU/100 mL• Minimum temperature: 46 °F (8 °C)

Investing in environmental stewardship to maintain your community’s economic future
