Meet Operation...
What is Operation: Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper?
Operation Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper (LQC) grant is offering up to $8,000 for your business or
community based organization to think outside the box and create a SAFE, FUN, EYE-CATCHING,
HEALTHY space for your community. Applications are due March 9, 2021, the winners will be
announced by April 1, 2021.
We encourage you to be creative! There are examples below but feel free to submit an original
proposal that best fits your space.

Add activity stencils to a sidewalk or in your business so everyone can play as they go. Add a mural to your building or color to the nearby crosswalks. (Must work with local municipality for approval of crosswalks & sidewalks.)
Outdoor Spaces
Healthy Vending or
Garden Active Transportation
Create a comfortable outdoor space. This space can include but not limited to: seating, sculptures, landscaping, signage, lighting, giant furniture or unique items.
Create a space that encourages people to use active transportation (biking, walking, etc…) to your location. This area can include but not limited to: seating, local trails map, bike racks, bike pump/work stand, dog waste stations, water fountain.
Add a healthy vending machine to your location. Start a garden and use the fresh produce in your restaurant. Not a restaurant, allow the community to participate in the garden and benefit from the fresh produce.
