KAJ SO SOCRATES PROGRAMI? Socrates je akcijski program Evropske unije s podro�ja izobraževanja in je namenjen raznim oblikam sodelovanja na vseh ravneh splošnega izobraževanja (od vrtcev do univerz in organizacij za tretje življenjsko obdobje). Poudarek je še posebej na vseživljenjskem u�enju, uporabi novih informacijskih in komunikacijskih tehnologij v izobraževanju, širjenju dobrih izkušenj ter vklju�evanju oseb s posebnimi potrebami.

WHAT ARE THE SOCRATES PROGRAMMES? SOCRATES is a European Community action programme in the field of education, and is allocated to diverse shapes of cooperation on all levels of general education (from pre-primary education to the University and lifelong learning organizations). A particular stress is on lifelong learning, use of new IC technologies in education, dissemination of good practices, and on inclusion of the people with special needs.

KAJ JE COMENIUS PROGRAM? Cilji COMENIUS programov so zboljšati kakovost šolstva in krepiti evropsko razsežnost v šolskem izobraževanju. Program spodbuja predvsem mednarodno sodelovanje med šolami in prispeva k boljšemu strokovnemu razvoju strokovnih delavcev v vzgoji in izobraževanju. Posebna skrb je namenjena tudi spodbujanju u�enja jezikov in razvoju medkulturne zavesti.

WHAT IS THE COMENIUS PROGRAMME? The overall objectives of Comenius are to enhance the quality and reinforce the European dimension of school education, in particular by encouraging international cooperation among schools and contributing to an improved professional development of staff directly involved in the school education sector, and promoting the learning of languages and intercultural awareness.

KAJ SO COMENIUS ŠOLSKI PROJEKTI? Najmanj tri šole iz treh razli�nih držav se med seboj povežejo v partnerstvo, kjer v okviru izbrane teme sodelujejo v projektu. Projekt mora biti vklju�en v redne šolske aktivnosti in mora zajemati �im ve�ji krog u�encev in u�iteljev na šoli.

WHAT ARE THE COMENIUS SCHOOL PROJECTS? Three schools at least from the three different countries are linked in a partnership, and co-operate within the framework of a chosen topic (in the project). The project should be a part of the curriculum and should scoop the biggest possible number of students and teachers.

O NAŠEM PROJEKTU Projekt se je za�el v šolskem letu 2005/2006. Za sedaj so vklju�ene v projekt tri partnerske šole, in sicer s Poljske (Žyradow), iz Italije (Pontremoli) in z Irske (Kilcormac). Šoli iz Slovenije (Preserje) in Tur�ije (Bursa) sodelujeta v tem šolskem letu kot »tiha partnerja«.

ABOUT OUR PROJECT The project was launched in the year 2005/2006. In that school year, three schools were involved: from Žyrardow (Poland), Pontremoli (Italy) and Kilcormac (Ireland). The schools from Preserje (Slovenia) and Bursa (Turkey) are the so-called “silent partners” in this school term.

KULTURNI DAN V decembru 2005 smo obiskali glasbeno predstavo skupine KATALENA. Skupina igra stare slovenske ljudske pesmi, ki so bile najdene v arhivih Etno-muzikološkega Inštituta v Ljubljani. Njihova želja je, da to glasbo izbrskajo iz zaprašene narodove podzavesti, oživijo to vitalno izro�ilo, mu vdihnejo novo energijo in potem predstavijo na najbolj sproš�en in neobremenjen na�in.

CULTURAL DAY OUT In December 2005, we visited a concert of a very famous Slovenian folk group KATALENA. The group plays different old Slovenian folk songs, which are discovered in the archives of the Ethno-Musicological Institute of Ljubljana. The aim of Katalena group is to pull out that music of the dusty national sub-consciousness, give it a wave of fresh energy, and publish it in the most relaxed and unburdened way.

PLESNI ŠPORTNI DAN V mesecu decembru smo na šoli izvedli plesni športni dan, kjer so u�enci povezovali gibalne sposobnosti z glasbo.

DANCE SPORTS DAY In December we realized a school sports day. The students united their movement skills with music.

RAZISKAVA U�enci 3. razreda osemletke pod vodstvom mentorice Marte Merkun so opravili raziskavo o slovenski narodni glasbi. Raziskali so glasbo iz Prlekije in Bele krajine. Raziskavo so poimenovali GLASBA - MOJA DEDIŠ�INA. Poleg ljudskih pesmi so raziskovali tudi plese (belokranjsko kolo) in ljudske inštrumente.

instruments Vsaka slovenska pokrajina odraža svojo duhovnost in mišljenje, kar odseva tudi v ljudskih pesmih. Prekmurje in Bela krajina sta izrazito »pripovedni«: v pesmi je pomembna zgodba, pripovedovanje, �emur sledi preprosta melodija z manjšim tonskim obsegom.

RESEARCH The pupils of primary level, under the guidance of their mentor Marta Merkun, concluded a research about Slovenian folk music. They investigated the music from Prlekija and Bela krajina regions. The title was - MUSIC-MY HERITAGE -. Apart from the folk songs, they investigated dances and instruments, too.

Each Slovenian region has a different way of expressing its own thought and spirituality, which are reflected in folk songs. Prekmurje and Bela krajina regions both have remarkable narrative traditions, and therefore stories and narrative play an important part in their folk songs.

A NEW YEAR PERFORMANCE As a part of the performance, one of our students played the medley of the Slovenian folk songs on the accordion.

USTVARJALNE DELAVNICE Na mar�evskih ustvarjalnih delavnicah se je ustvarjalnost petih in sedmih razredov pokazala v široki pahlja�i tem -od predstavitve partnerskih držav in regij, zbiranja in analiziranja slovenskih ljudskih pesmi ter leposlovne literature do predstavitve izobraževalnih sistemov. Pa še kaj smo ustvarjali in predstavili. Izsledke naših delavnic si oglejte na spletni strani naše šole pod rubriko Projekti, izberite projekt in poiš�ite brošuro.

CREATIVE WORKSHOPS A wide range of topics related to the project was the created by the students in the March workshops: from the presentation of partner countries and regions through collecting and analyzing Slovenian folk songs and fiction to the presentation of educational systems in some European countries. We also produced and presented, a bit more. The results of our workshops can be seen on our website under the title projects, (choose the project and search for the brochure.)

GLASBENA PRIREDITEV V mesecu juniju smo izvedli glasbeno prireditev z naslovom LJUDSKA PESEM IN PLES V SLOVENIJI. Na prireditvi, ki so se je udeležili tudi starši in drugi krajani, so se u�enci predstavili na besednem, likovnem in gibalno-plesnem podro�ju.

MUSIC PERFORMANCE: In June we carried out music performance with a title “The FOLK SONGS and DANCES in SLOVENIA”. In the show, which was attended by the parents and the local community, the students presented themselves in verbal, artistic and dancing field.

SLOVENSKE LJUDSKE PESMI Slovenska beseda pesem izhaja iz glagola peti, ker je bila pesem pri Slovencih vedno povezana z glasbo. Še danes je ljudska pesem celota le z melodijo. Besedne analize slovenskih ljudskih pesmi kažejo, da jih motivno in tematsko delimo v tri ve�je sklope:

1. Splošni, univerzalni oz. mednarodni motivi in teme.

2. Tematsko-motivno izro�ilo, ki je skupno vsem Slovanom.

3. Teme in motivi so izklju�no slovenski in jim ne moremo najti vzporednice nikjer drugje.

Vsem ljudskim pesmim je skupno na�elo jasnost izražanja, zato se v pesmih kot najpogostejša podoba pojavlja primera in manj zahtevne metafore, pri katerih asociacijsko pole ni preširoko in se da zlahka dešifrirati.

SLOVENIAN FOLK SONGS The Slovenian word for both poem and song is “pesem” and it comes from the verb peti – to sing – because, for Slovenians, both songs and poems are closely linked to music. Even today, traditional fool songs can be considered complete only when accompanied by a melody. An analysis of the Slovenian folk songs lyrics shows that, in terms of motifs and themes, they can be divided into three main categories.

1. General, universal and international applicable motifs and themes.

2. The themes and motifs that are the common heritage of all Slavic people.

3. The themes and motifs that are exclusively related to Slovenian tradition, of which parallels cannot be found in other cultures.

In general, folk songs are known for their simplicity of expression. The principal images in these songs are generally repeated and their metaphors tend to be less demanding with any associative field that is not too broad and can be easily deciphered.

Primer ljudske pripovedke: LJUBLJANSKI ZMAJ

V starih �asih je bila okolica Ljubljane veliko jezero. V obdobju neolitika (3000 – 2000 pr.n. št.) so prebivalci živeli na jezeru, v hišah, zgrajenih na kolih. Legenda pravi, da so nekega dne Jazon in njegovi Argonavti obiskali te kraje. V železni dobi (1000-350 pr.n.št.) so te kraje naseljevali Iliri, okoli leta 400 pr.n.št. pa so se naselili Kelti. Jazon in njegova posadka z ladje Argo so ukradli zlato runo kolhidijskemu kralju v Mali Aziji (danes jo to podro�je na Kavkazu). Da bi se izognili svojim zasledovalcem, so zašli v ustje reke Donave, namesto da bi se vrnili po isti poti v Egejsko morje. Za ubežnike ni bilo ve� vrnitve in zato so nadaljevali pot vzdolž reke Donave vse do reke Save in nato po Ljubljanici do njenega izvira. Potem so razstavili ladjo in jo v kosih prenesli do Jadranskega morja,ter nadaljevali pot po morju do svoje domovine. Blizu izvira Ljubljanice so popotniki našli veliko jezero z mo�virnatim obrobjem. Tam se je Jazon spopadel z veliko mo�virsko pošastjo, ki je bila podobna zmaju. Ta zmaj je danes upodobljen na grbu mesta Ljubljane. Iliri in Kelti so poskušali zavarovati svojo deželo pred invazijo starih Rimljanov. Zgradili so utrdbo Emona in še mnogo drugih na gri�ih okoli Ljubljane. Vendar svojega ozemlja niso uspeli ubraniti. Rimljani so osvojili Emono in jo spremenili v vojaški tabor z mo�nim obzidjem. Leta 452 po n. št. je Emono napadel Atila, poglavar Hunov, in jo porušil do tal. Emona je bila tako razdejana, da na tem mestu ni bilo skoraj ni�esar ve�. Mesto je izginilo s prizoriš�a zgodovine za skoraj 500let. Celo njegovo ime se je izgubilo. Ime Ljubljana se prvi� pojavi v starih listinah leta 1144 kot Luvigana. Ime Ljubljana se pojavi pozneje.

THE LJUBLJANA DRAGON The Ljubljana territory was in ancient times a big lake. In the Neolithic period (3000 to 2000 B.C.) the lake dwellers lived on the lake in houses built on poles set in marshy lake bottom. A legend says that one day Jason and his Argonauts visited this territory. In the Iron age (1000-350 B.C.) our country was inhabited with Illyrians. About 400 B.C. the Celts came to our territory. Jason and his men from the ship called Argo stole the Golden Fleece from the king of Colchis in Asia Minor (today the region of Caucasus). The ship Argo escaped its pursuers bur entered the mouth of the Danube instead of sailing southwards into the Aegean Sea. There was no way back for the fugitives, so they continued their way up the Danube, then up the river of Sava and finally had stop at the source of the river Ljubljanica. They carried their ship in pieces overland to the Adriatic Sea and continued their way home alongside the Adriatic coast. Near the source of the Ljubljanica river they found a big lake with a marshy shore, where their leader Jason hat to fight and kill a terrible moor monster. It looked like a dragon. This is the Ljubljana dragon that is seen today at the top of castle tower in the Ljubljana coat of arms. The Illyrians and Celts tried best to defend the country against invasion by the Romans. They built a fortress Emona (today the city of Ljubljana), and many other fortifications on the hills all around the city of Emona. However, they couldn’t withstand the Roman invaders. The Romans converted Emona into a military camp and built a strong wall around it. In the year 452 A.D. the leader of Huns, Attila, destroyed Emona so much that is disappeared from history for the next 500 years. Even the name was lost. The name of Ljubljana was found in old documents in the year 1144 as Luvigana (a Latin version), and later changed into the name Ljubljana.

USTVARJALNE DELAVNICE pri geografiji: 9. marec

Ta dan je bil namenjen ustvarjalnim delavnicam. Pri g. Damjanu Snoju smo risali zastave držav in grbe glavnih mest. Risali smo na stiropor. Uporabljali smo Jupol barve in �opi�e. Imeli smo se zelo lepo! Imeli smo tudi glasbo in smo le lepo zabavali. Delali smo 5 šolskih ur. Na prazne želod�ke nismo pozabili, saj smo imeli dobro malico! Seveda pa tudi nismo bili angel�ki saj smo po�eli nor�ije! Najve� dela smo imeli z umivanjem lon�kov. Ker smo veliko barvali tudi mi nismo bili zelo �isti. Pri delavnicah smo se morali zelo potruditi, saj smo naredili veliko zastav in grbov. �e bi sedaj vprašala vse tiste, ki so to delali, bi se vsi odlo�ili, da to ponovimo še en enkrat! CREATIVE WORKSHOPS at

Geography: The 9th March

The day was related to creative workshops. At Mr. Damjan Snoj’s class, we drew and painted flags of our partner countries and capital coats of arms. We used Jupol colours and paintbrushes. We had a great time! There was the music too, and we enjoyed ourselves. We worked for full 5 school lessons. We also didn’t forget our empty stomachs: we had a really good meal! Of course, we weren’t “little angels”: all the time we did many mischievous things! The biggest part of our work was washing the painting-pots! Because we painted so much, we ourselves weren’t so clean either. At the workshops we made a big effort in creating many flags and coats of arms. If one asked all, who worked on it, probably all would decide to do it again! Miha Mazi, 7.a, Janez Verbi�, 7.a.
