Air Conditioning Cabinetsfor All Hospital Departments

  • Mediclean Cabinets System WeissIn contrast to conventionalcentralised air conditioningsystems, Mediclean air conditioning cabinets systemWeiss are designed as plug-in appliance.

1 The Housing of the highlyflexible module system ismade of double planks andcovered by a 30 mm thick insulation layer. This ensureshigh stability and efficientsound absorption. If necessary(from building site), supply air, humidifier and return air modules can fully be assem-bled (complete pipe fittingsfrom refrigeration side) andcommissioned ex works.Costly installation andcommissioning becomes unnecessary. The entire frontof the unit is covered by doors allowing perfect access forservice, cleaning and maintenance purposes.

2 Fans, Filters and Humidifying Lines can be controlledthrough large windows during operation. Theconstruction of the unitallows direct access to all com-ponents. All interior surfacesare even and therefore easy to clean.

    Our Product Features Your Advantage

3 Bag Filters and Cassette Filterswith pressure devices testedfor tight fitting complying withDIN 24 185, part 1, filter qualityclasses F5 (on suction side) and F7 ensure high dustabsorption and therewith longservice life. This keeps servicecosts consequently low.

4 Generously-DesignedEvaporators/Cold Water Coolers, consisting of an all-round alu-minium frame, copper tubingwith aluminium fins and col-lecting pipelines equippedwith ventilation and drainageconnections, ensure a highlysensitive cooling performance. The low velocity of (max.) 2.0 m/s in the blower streamallows for optimum exploita-tion of refrigeration perform-ance. A mist eliminator is notrequired. Heat exchangers arecompletely equipped withexpansion tanks and servicefittings. An important require-ment of VDI 6022 concerns thecleaning of the heat exchang-ers. A special constructionallows access to intake andoutlet sides. Heat exchangerscan easily be reached by open-ing the upper windows andremoving the suction filters.Access to outlet side is

achieved via the fan beingmounted onto a plate allowingeasy roll-out. The entire mod-ule floor space is designed as atub. Stainless steel (1.4301)guarantees maximum protec-tion against corrosion.

5 The Refrigeration Unit (designed to comply with EN 378) is equipped with one ortwo completely separated cool-ing circles which, in turn, arecompletely sealed off from theair flow. This means that fineregulation and service activi-ties can be carried out underoperational conditions.Cooling circles with a hot-gasbypass and electronic controlvalve guarantee maximumoperational safety and opti-mum efficiency. Use of enviro-mentally friendly R 417 A refrigerant.

6 Free Running, Directly Drivenimpellers with suction fromone side are load adapted andof high energetic efficiency.Electric connection loads arekept to a minimum level andtherewith reduce maintenancework. The impeller motorassemblies are adapted to eachother, keeping the runningnoise level to an absolute mini-mum, reducing operational

    wear and maximising opera-tional availability.

7 The Switch Cabinet, complete with main switch, isintegrated in the basic unitand wired in accordance withVDE. All required operationmodes may easily be realisedwith the individually program-mable DDC Control SystemWeiss, Type PC 2, comprisingthe full regulation of fans, compressors, jalousie flaps etc.An additional switch cabinet/switch box may be required incase an increased number offield units is involved. If desired, control systems from othermanufacturers can be used.

Mediclean Cabinets Designedaccording to DIN 1946, part 4,

meet all the requirements ofrelated DIN, VDI and hygieneregulation (in comparison with all previously-described normal designs). Hygienic air conditioning cabinets areadditionally equipped as fol-lows: Stainless steel-panelled inte-

rior, all joints being vapourtight and hygienically sealed.Air-tight housing in accord-ance with VDI 3803, sealingclassification G 3

Closed-pore materials areused, resistant to convention-al disinfecting agents and microorganisms

Side and rear panels can befitted with additional inspection openings

Control of heat exchangersthrough observation andinspection windows

Condensation ductwork foreach tub has an individualgradient to the exterior, lead-ing into a check valve.Condensate is lead via a freeline to an external collectingbasin (site connection)

Dampfbefeuchtung aus-schlielich mit Trinkwasser ohne Zustze

Fans, intake flow nozzle andsupporting plate are all coat-ed with hygienic epoxy resin

    Air-tight flaps conformingwith DIN 1946

Weiss Klimatechnik Models 25, 35, 65 and 85 are all hygienicversions. See page 4 for details.

Version 2: Air conditioning cabinet System Weisswithout humidifier module. When operatedwith circulating air and a minimum of freshair, humidifying becomes in comparison tooperation with 100 % fresh air less important. According to DIN 1946/4:30 % relative air

humidity is considered the comfort thres-hold, unrelated to the air temperature.Values below this are acceptable.

The suction filter in the fresh air/supply air module, as 2nd filter stage in a room air system, meets the norm requirements of filter classification F7 of DIN EN 779, since the DIN requirement second filter stage at en-trance of supply air pipe line (among others due to cleanliness of pipe system), is only relevant for belt-driven fans.

    Process Control 2 (PC 2)

Process Control 2 is a specially developed microprocessor con- trolled DDC regulation system for air conditioning equipment.

Process Control 2 is freelyprogrammable and allows control and regulation of typical air conditioning para-meters like e. g. temperature, humidity, pressure, cascadecontrol, monitoring of limitvalues, alarm functions, operation time counters etc.

Due to Intelligent Software,Process Control 2 optimisesthe energy balance of the unit. The desired set values and

operating limits can be freelyselected on the user-friendlyfoil keyboard. Data security isassured using EEPROMs.

The 4 x 20 Digit LCD Display shows the measured value, setvalue hysteresis, regulationand control parameters, alarmand malfunction reports clearly. The operating time ofall equipment is counted and signaled in the LED. Menuselection and the input of setvalues and regulation parameters can easily beselected on the keyboard.Malfunctions are being

reported visually and acousti-cally with alarm giving newvalue and last value reports. For safety, programming at allthree user levels is protected bypassword.
