Borer Medical DivisionMedical applicationsCleanliness and hygiene in the clinical settingCleanliness and hygiene are of vital importance in all healthcare facilities, because sick and hospitalised people are par-ticularly susceptible to infections. The transmission of infectious diseases can be prevented by appropriate cleaning and disinfection measures as part of a general hygiene protocol.

Proven product performanceThe development of cleaning and disinfectant agents at Borer Chemie AG for clinical applications includes thorough testing for performance, efficacy and material compatibility. We work closely with recognised testing laboratories and manufactur-ers of medical devices to ensure our products are ready for market. External checks are complemented by internationally recognised test methods. Our product claims are therefore always based on scientific evidence, ensuring the required level of safety for users and patients in every application.

Support and advice – our strengthsDeveloping and optimising cleaning methods, performing water and surface analyses and validations, providing training in products and applications, supporting type testing and process validation.

The companyBorer Chemie AG is a technological leader in cleaning and disinfection. We develop, manufacture and market a range of world-renowned brand-name products and tried-and-tested methods for demanding professional applications in hospital hygiene, the industrial sector, laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry.

Areas in which Borer Chemie is successfully active include cleaning surfaces prior to coating, cleaning ophthalmic lenses, plate glass and laboratory glassware, instrument reprocessing and services such as cleaning validation and chemical analy-ses. In the medical field, we are a process-orientated partner offering customers tailored solutions for instrument reprocessing.

Carlos da SilvaDirector Borer Medical

InstrumentsCleaning and disinfection of medical instrumentsWhether you process your instruments manually, in a washer- disinfector or with a combination of both methods, you are sure to always find the right product at Borer Chemie AG.

For manual applications, you can choose between a clean-ing agent, a disinfectant or a product that has both prop-erties. You may prefer an aldehyde-free disinfectant or a formula based on aldehydes. The decision is yours.

Among the products for automated reprocessing, you can select those that best meet your requirements in terms of material compatibility, available water quality and the degree of contamination. Formulations are available for strongly alkaline, mildly alkaline and neutral cleaning processes as well as disinfectants for chemo-thermal applications. We also have disinfectants based on peracetic acid for high- level disinfection.

EndoscopesCleaning and disinfecting flexible endoscopesFlexible endoscopes are extremely sensitive instruments that cannot be steam-sterilised. In addition to the desired cleaning and disinfection efficacy, material compatibility is of the utmost importance.

Our products for manual and automated reprocessing of endoscopes have been subjected to extensive tests and have proved highly compatible with extremely sensitive materials.

SurfacesThe variety of surface disinfectionYou can prevent the transmission of diseases by systemat-ically disinfecting surfaces such as floors, walls, equipment, mounts, etc.

For this purpose, you can select from our aldehyde-based formulations, aldehyde-free concentrates and ready-to-use solutions. Moreover, products are available that are spe-cifically formulated for use in bedstead decontamination equipment and bedpan decontamination machines.

HandsHygienic and surgical hand disinfectionInadequate hand hygiene is regarded as the main cause of exogenous, hospital-acquired infections. Our products for hand disinfection are based on the most effective active substances, namely alcohols. Use of these products pro-vides a reliable antimicrobial activity while caring for the

skin thanks to a blend of emolients. In addition, a significant time saving can be achieved compared to washing with antiseptic soap. Our formulations also contain substances with long-lasting antimicrobial activity, as required for pre-operative disinfecting of hands. The tested skin tolerance is particularly important for frequent use.
