What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

There are many different distubution companies that I could use to distribute my film ‘Lost Signal’ with. I have researched many of the most popular UK and USA companies, and chosen which ones I thought would be best to distribute my film with.

Some of the companies I thought about were;• Paramout• 20th Century fox• Universal• Film Four• Metrodome

My first choice of company in which to distribute ‘Lost Signal’ with was 20th Century Fox. This was my first decision as 20th Century Fox is a very well known and popular American film company. Due to this, if my film was distributed by this company then it would definitely become a popular film, and many people would watch it.

This is due to the fact that 20th Century Fox has distributed some of the most famous and best films, including avatar, star wars, alien, die hard, X- men etc. This way, if my film was disturbuted by 20th Century Fox then my film would be widely watched all over the world. However, I thought it would be a lot more realistic to chose a UK distribution company, 20th Century Fox would only franchise a film they thought would make huge profits.

My first decision regarding UK film companies was Momentum Pictures. I thought this would be a good company to distribute my film with as it is one of the most popular UK companies, and has franchised many good films, such as The Crazies and Skyline. Also, it distributed The kings Speech, in which won many baftas for it’s brilliance. This made it an easy choice as I thought using a company based in the UK would be more effective.

Other film companies I could have considered to distribute my film with would be;

Columbia – famous for 13 ghosts & 2012 Universal – famous for Jurassic park & 2 fast

2 furious Working Title – famous for Paul & Green

Zone Metrodome – famous for Age of The

Dragons & Aftershock
