I would not chose IPC Media

to distribute my magazine as

they distribute the following

which is not similar to my

genre:• ‘Nuts’• ‘Uncut’• ‘NME’• ‘Mousebreaker’

Nuts magazine is explicit and

inappropriate for my audience

as they are teenagers, and do

not focus on music.

Page 3: Media A Level Institutions

Again ‘MusicMags’ would

not distribute my magazine

as our target audiences are

different, as they distribute

the following:• ‘Jazz Times’• ‘Sound on Sound’My magazine is R&B which

is completely different to

Jazz, and my magazine

would not appeal to this

audience.

However ‘SpinMedia’ distributes

websites as well as magazines:

• ‘Vibe’• ‘AbsolutePunk’• ‘Buzznet’I would chose SpinMedia as they

distribute a social network called

Buzznet which would be a great

platform for our magazine. As they

distribute a range of products this

would highlight our R&B magazine,

which means less competition. They

also distribute a magazine called

‘Vibe’ which influenced us a lot in the

creating process as Vibe and Fresh

share a lot of similarities..

The similarities of ‘Vibe’ and ‘Fresh’..

Fresh Vibe

share the same target audiences, appeals to teenagers, feature solo artists, feature unknown artists, bright colors used, new theme colors for different issues (including the masthead), contents screen differs for each issue, double-page spread dedicates one page to the artists picture.

I would like to sell my magazine

in supermarkets like ‘Asda’ as

their customers have a wide age

range, and most markets have an

isle dedicated to magazines,

which makes my magazine easy

to find as they are organized in

certain genre’s. I would also sell

my magazine in the shop

‘WHSmith’ as it’s a book store

and is known for selling a variety

of magazines. I would avoid

selling magazines in stalls as they

are placed in streets and passing

customers are normally in a rush

and do not visit stalls.

I will create accounts on

various social networks like

twitter, Facebook, instagram and youtube, as

teenagers use these sites

on a regular basis and I will

attract teenagers. This also

helps to create a modern

magazine as the magazines

are up to date, and could

feature a page dedicated to

customers that get in touch

via social networks.
