ExampleS2. Find the number and length of the cast iron pipe required using 100 mm (4) diameter.

EXAMPLES3. The installation shown specify the use of 75 mm diameter hubless pipe. Find the number of pipes required.

3. Snap CutterUse chalk to mark your cut linesWrap the chain of the snap cutter around the pipe as evenly as possibleApply pressure onto the handles of the cutter so the wheels cut into the pipe

Galvanized steel pipeBasic rules in governing the threading operations:Know the sizePlace the galvanized steel pipe in a vice or workbench that is high enough off the groundNever hold the threaded parts with a wrench. Put two nuts on them, lock tightly and continue the threading operations.5. Apply motor oil or cutting oil regularly to protect the threader and the thread of pipe6. The threads should be slightly tapered7. Put Teflon tape in a clockwise direction on the threaded portion of the pipe 8. It is more economical to use of ready-made nipples ranging from 2 inches to 12 inches long.

Before you can do any home plumbing repairs, you need to know the size of the pipe that is needed. In the absence of a measuring caliper, we can measure the inside diameter of a pipe by measuring the outside circumference using a string.Table 3-8 Wall Clearance For Pipe Installation
