FOREWORDFOREWORD
Staying true to its reputation as one of the most prestigious business schools in the countr
MDI successfully completed the Summer Placements for the Class of 2015, comprising 29
students 234 enrolled in the flagship PGPM course and 59 students in the PGPHRM cours
Despite lingering fears of an impending recession and an uncertain economic environmen
MDI blazed through its summer placements in record time with more than 120 compani
participating in the process.
Having raised its benchmark, MDI maintained its tryst with the regular recruiters, who y
again showed immense faith in the students for building future leadership. there was
substantial rise in the number of offers made by each company, also, the average stipend saa significant increase of 24% over the last year. More heartening was the addition of a numb
of new recruiters, who trusted the quality of students, sensing a potential valueaddition
their respective firms and recruited in large numbers offering exciting profiles.
Niche profiles like media and advertising, fashion and lifestyle, digital marketing, crow
sourcing and sports marketing were offered in lines with the changing trends. Many studen
preferred to further develop their entrepreneurial skills by opting for startups over oth
companies. This year also saw large participation from companies in the ecommerce spac
which reflects the immense growth in the sector.

The Class of 2015 consists of an eclectic mix
of students from diverse educational
backgrounds, with close to 14% of them
coming from nonengineering backgrounds
like Arts, Commerce, Economics, Fashion
Technology, Medicine, Psychology and
Science.
Speaking of Gender Diversity, the ratio of female students to male students has been
excellent as compared to the previous years, a testament to the rising number of prospectivefemale managers in the corporate world.
Although the batch primarily consists of people
with a prior work experience in variegated
domains like IT/ITES, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas,
Power, Consulting, Banking and Analytics.
It also consists of an ideal number of freshgraduates, bringing in the much coveted
diversity in perception and insight.

PLACEMENTS AT A GLANCE
Sales & Marketing continued to be the most preferred profile with 48% of the students from PGP
course accepting profiles in S&M. The FMCG sector has continued its strong association with M
over the years and this year was no different. In addition, this year saw increasing participation fro
other sectors like Telecom, Banking and E commerce. Airtel, AkzoNobel, American Express, AsiPaints, ATFL, Castrol, CocaCola, ColgatePalmolive, Dabur, emami, exchange4media, Flipka
Godrej, GlaxoSmithKline, Hector Beverages, Idea, Interglobe, Michelin, PepsiCo, Perfetti Van Mel
Pidilite, Procter & Gamble, Puma, Reckitt Benckiser, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Tetra Pak and Vodafo
among others offered roles in Sales and Marketing functions.
Despite the economic slowdown, Finance companies continued their foray and showed confiden
n the students. The domain was led by renowned multinational financial firms like Americ
Express, Axis Bank, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, ICICI, India Alternatives, JP Morgan, Jones La
LaSalle, Langham Capital, Nomura, Philips, RBS, SBI Capital Markets and Synergy Consulting amomany others. The offers were made for roles in Investment Banking, Wholesale Banking, Ret
Banking, Equity Research, Asset Management, Treasury, Corporate Finance, Risk and Private Equit
The Consulting domain saw participation from consulting majors such as Avalon Consultin
Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte US India, TCS, Technopak and Wipro.
General Management once again was a preferred functional domain on campus with maj
ndustry players like Mahindra, Philips, Reliance Industries and RPG making a large number of offe
n this domain. The Healthcare sector was strongly represented by participation from majors li
Eli Lilly, BI Pharma and Boston Scientific among others.Number of companies offering the Operations and Supply Chain role also saw a substantial ris
While companies like Citibank, Idea, Metlife, SAP and Tata Steel continued their relationship, Aviv
Perfetti Van Melle, Procter & Gamble and Zovi also opened their operations role at MDI.

The major recruiters for the students of PGPHR offered roles in Corporate HR, HR Consulting an
ndustrial Relations. These included companies from varied sectors such as Automobile, Bankin
and Financial services, Consumer Durables, FMCG, Food and Beverages, Fashion & Lifestyle, HR
Strategy Consulting and Telecommunications etc.
Major Recruiters included Aditya Birla Group, AlcatelLucent, Asian Paints, Atkins, Aviva, Axi
Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Godrej, GlaxoSmithKline, IBM Consulting, ICICI, Idea, KPMG, Nivea
People Strong, Pepsico, Philips, Reliance Industries Limited, Right management, RPG, Tata Motor
Tata Sons, Tata Steel, Vodafone and Wipro among others.

FOR THE ALMA MATER
Our alums are our assets and this was truly evident in the placement season. MDI's alumni
extended wholehearted support and evinced the importance of their alma matter to them.
Regular motivation and support of alumni ushered a sense of confidence in participants and
guided them in the desirable direction. The involvement of alumni not only brought some ofthe best brands to campus but also was instrumental in ensuring a smooth placement season
