TRAVELING TO “HOTSPOTS” M’CHIGEENG FIRST NATION

As you all know, Ontario is officially in it’s second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this time, being

safe and responsible is more important than ever. We understand that certain circumstance (Medical ap-

pointments, Family Emergencies, etc.) may have you travelling to what is known as a “Hotspot” within the

Province of Ontario so we want to provide you with some recommendations for you regarding what to do

when you return from your trip.

1.When going to the known Hotspot, please limit contact with others as much as possible, if you are go-

ing for an appointment we recommend that you go straight to your appointment and straight home or

back to your hotel room if you are spending the night in a hotel.

2. We also ask that you ensure you’re wearing masks and washing/sanitizing your hands often to prevent

the spread of germs.

3. Upon your return, we recommend that you isolate for a 5 day period before going to get a COVID test.

This period of 5 days allows the virus to become detectable in our systems if it is present. (Tests that

have been done directly after travel do not show accurate results as it takes a few days for the virus to be

able to show up on the test.)

4. After getting your test done you are to isolate until your results come in. You can check your results

online at the Sudbury Public Health Website.

Below is a list of Hotspots that have been recognized by the Province of Ontario

• Toronto

• Peel

• Ottawa

• York

Please make sure that if you are traveling to these hotspots that you follow the recommendations

provided in order to keep yourself and others in our community as safe as possible!

Miigwetch.

Lest we

Miigwech to all of our veterans.

Your service and dedication to our

country have given us the free-

doms that we enjoy today!

We are forever grateful for your

service.
