Five million children under the age of 5 die as a result of hunger-related causes every year. Paradoxically this hunger exists in a world richly endowed with resources, as greed, poor governance and unjust economic policies perpetuate poverty, chronic hunger and conflicts. On this Sunday, we proclaim our trust in the unfailing hope of God’s provision (Hebrews 6:18; 1 Peter 5:7), even as we commit to respon- sible stewardship of the world’s resources (Genesis 1:25–30). OCTOBER 16, 2015 WORLD FOOD DAYToday, one in nine people around the world suffer from hunger and malnutrition. Five million children under the age of 5 die as a result of hunger-related causes every year.

On this Sunday, we proclaim our trust in the unfailing hope of God’s provision (Hebrews 6:18; 1 Peter 5:7), even as we commit to respon-sible stewardship of the world’s resources (Genesis 1:25–30).
