Features• Energy-saving and maintenance free
• High-current transmission in hermeti -cally sealed chambers
• No oxidation or corrosion in the cham-bers. Low loss over long-time use
• The contact will not worsen in an ava-lanche effect due to heating
• Bars do not need cleaning
• Plating not required
• The torsion spring louver of theMC-Multilam permits the contact for -ce as well as the electrical performan-ce of the busbar joint to remain cons -tant even when the compressionforce drops to 50% of its initial value
• Economics of the installation: low re -sistance factor over a long period oftime (stable long-term behaviour), mi-nimum energy loses
• Busbar joints do not need any servi-cing
• High operating reliability
• Substantially prolonged service life
• Do-it-yourself easy assembly
Notice: In a corrosive atmosphereand with combinations of different ma -terials, in order to prevent corrosion po-tential differences should not exceed350mV. Silver-tin and silver-aluminiumcombinations should be avoided in acorrosive atmosphere. Also see Techni-cal Report IEC 60943:1998-01.MC-SEALconTACTs are suitable forunplated or plated connections Cu/Cu,Cu/Al alloys or Al alloys/Al alloys (e.g.AlMgSi0.5, EN-AW6060). The busbar ma-terial and application should be stated inany inquiries or orders forMC-SEALconTACTs.MC-SEALconTACTs must not be used inconnections with Cu/pure aluminium orpure aluminium/pure aluminium (e.g.with E-Al99.5, EN-AW1350) with orwithout electroplating. The contact re -sistance of a connection with MC-SEALconTACT can rise rapidly, resultingin marked heat generation.

Notice 1With existing configurations not ini -tially designed for the standard MC-SEALconTACT, the– Tightening torque– Thread diameter– Bolt length– Bolt spacingsare to be defined according to the com-pression force of the contact and sup-port modules (page 2).Notice 21. The relevant DIN or other national
standards should be referred to, inparticular the current loading of thebusbars.
2. The MC-assembly instructions are tobe observed.
