Last week the MC was happy to welcome students back to A-State. The first day of classes was postponed due to snow and ice. On Wednesday the MC hosted a welcome back lunch, and handed out free baseball t-shirts. On Thursday the Black History Month Committee had it's final meeting, where event details were finalized. On Friday the first A-State Connection Meeting was held, and plans are now being made to have a great event for High School Students this Spring.

On Wednesday, January 16, 2018, the MC held a Welcome Back Lunch for returning students. The meal consisted of cheese enchiladas, chicken faj itas, a bean salad, and churros. During the event we handed out "I love the MC" baseball T-shirts. Around 100 students attended the event. I t was so wonderful to have the MC filled with students! We hope that everyone in attendance knows they are always welcome to spend time in the center! We appreciate you!

Student Spotlight This Week's Student Spotlight is Keeaundra Richardson, or as we like to call her Keekee! This is Keekee's second year working at the front desk in the MC, and she is a valuable member of our team! Keekee keeps us laughing, and treats every person who enters the center, like a friend. She is originally from Nashville, AR and is very close to her family. She is a Social Work Major with a Minor in Children's Advocacy Studies. After she acquires her Master's in Social Work, she aspires to become a Child and Family Therapist. In her spare time she enjoys playing basketball,

working out, and watching Netflix.

Why Did you choose Social Work, as your major?

She chose this major because she loves to help others, and "I have experienced being that person that needed someone and didn't have anyone, so I want to be that person for someone else in need."

This is your second year working for the MC, what do you l ike about it?

I like that the MC is welcoming to everyone. The multicultural center is a safe zone. I feel it is very important to have a place where people can go and feel they are not judged by their race, sexual orientation, or interest. Another thing I like about the MC is that they have amazing and very informative events.
