    Cognitive Dissonance theory

    Developed by Leo Festinger

    According to this theory we experience the

    motivation to reduce cognitive dissonance (An

    unpleasant state that results when we notice

    inconsistency between two or more of our

    attitudes or between our attitudes and

    behaviors)
