The new generation of MBS LAMPcure for label printing is based on innovative solutions: URS duo-reflector technology and the ELC-X electronic power supply device deliver a significant reduction in operating costs, leading to more economical production with consistently high quality and productivity, all for relatively low investment costs.

Electronic power supply deviceLAMPcure is fitted with ELC-X-type electronic power supply devices as standard. These can be used to regulate the dimming range of the UV lamp infinitely. Both LAMPcure and LEDcure can be operated alternately using the same ELC. The compact stacking concept for the ELC-X reduces the space required by up to 50 % and guarantees easy accessibility to the devices at any time.
Quick-change cassetteThe MBS cassette can simply be inserted in the machine; all supply connections couple automatically. This enables you to switch quickly and easily from operation with a UV lamp to LEDs. Thanks to the removable inner housing all components in the unit can be accessed easily and without screws. This reduces maintenance times to a minimum.
Product designs There are two variants of the MBS product range: a system with UV lamp and subsequent retrofit option to LED and a system with UV LEDs and subsequent retrofit option to UV lamp.
MBS LAMPcureUV curing with an air-cooled lamp system (120 W/cm); optionally available with an output of 145 W/cm, e.g. for low migration printing.
MBS LEDcureUV curing with an air-cooled LED system; suitable for installing LED technology to all or only some printing units.
Existing LAMPcure units already operated with the ELC-X series can be upgraded to the new LEDcure technology. Product safety
The MBS bears the “DGUV Test” mark no. DP 17080 (formerly the GS (“geprüfte Sicherheit”/safety tested) mark). This mark is a valid and legally regulated test symbol for product safety which is recognized throug-hout Europe.

URS duo-reflector technologyThe LAMPcure from IST METZ is equipped with URS reflectors. These reflectors consist of over 60 resistant metal oxide layers. The reflectors are characterised by an extremely long service life and optimum heat management. URS duo technology has a much higher degree of reflection than conventional reflectors, since the reflective layers are applied to a stable and air-cooled aluminium carrier profile. The reflector profiles are opened and closed pneumatically, making operation safe and reliable.
High-performance LEDsLEDcure is ready to use immediately after switching on. There are no warm-up or cooling times, which saves both time and energy. LEDs have a long service life. However, individual modules are easy to replace if required. LED systems from IST METZ are available in different wavelengths (365 – 405 nm); combi-nations of wavelengths are also possible.

Mode of operation: URS duo-reflector technology Air cooling for lamps and LEDsThe optimised exhaust air quantity and the air flow for cooling the MBS units are controlled in operation, reducing contamination of the lamps and simultaneously increasing their service life. This minimizes downtimes for cleaning and maintenance.
WarrantyIST METZ provides a warranty for 10,000 operating hours on URS-type reflectors, and 2,500 operating hours on UV lamps. For more information, go to www.ist-uv.com

Design and handlingThe modern and unique design of the MBS is also setting new standards in terms of handling. Without touching a single screw, it is possible to access all relevant components of the UV dryer. The inter-changeable cassette makes it quick and easy to switch between LAMPcure and LEDcure.
EconomyIn addition to the savings to be made from low-energy production, availability of the printing press can also be improved, which is why the MBS has been specifically designed to reduce press downtimes. All servicing work can be performed quickly and easily, saving both time and money.
Smart ControlThe new generation of the MBS product family is equipped with the Smart Control system interface. This makes operation of UV systems clear, is easy to use and allows straightforward integration in the control systems of all common kinds of printing press.
SOPHISTICATEDPerfect integration and optimum handling
Heat management The UV efficiency of the unit has been improved using raytracing and considering thermodynamics. The thermal design does not allow any partial overload of components and lamps. At the same time, only the heat required for the process is permitted. This design enables high production speeds and reliable operation for many years.
UV measurementThe LAMPcure is prepared for UV measurement. The portable UMS-2 UV measuring device allows to control the UV output when required, thus preventing press downtimes.
FLC quick-change lampsThe cable-free FLC UV lamp system enables a quick and easy change of the UV lamp. It can be removed from the lamp unit with just one move. The fact that the lamp can be changed in a few seconds adds up to several hours of additional press availability over the course of a year.

Based on the Hot Swap concept for narrow-web printing, customers have the opportunity of switching between the two technologies at any time during operation and evaluating their potential applications on an individual basis.
