All garbage cans MUST have lids. Rear yard waste will be picked up for kitchen garbage only. RUBBISH: Wood furniture, box springs, mattresses, toilets, glass (must be wrapped), porcelain sinks, flower pots, plastic toys, styrofoam including packing “peanuts”, carpeting (rolled & tied in lengths, no longer than 4ft). Items weighing more than 50 lbs. WILL NOT be picked up. ALL RUBBISH MUST BE PLACED AT CURB ON GARBAGE DAY. DEBRIS: Wallboard, plaster, building materials (NO ASBESTOS), wood (with nails removed) - NOT TO EXCEED THREE CONTAINERS OR BUNDLES A MONTH FROM ANY DWELLING. Debris must be properly and safely contained or tied securely in bundles not more than four feet in length and weighing no more than 50 lbs. WHITE GOODS: Pick up by appointment ONLY. All appliances (refrigerators [with doors removed], stoves, washers, dryers, A/C, etc), cast iron tubs, stainless steel sinks, metal furniture, pipes (4 feet or less), lawn care equipment (with gas & oil removed), computer equipment, televisions, and electronic equipment. Call (201) 945-5319 for a Tuesday appointment. MOTOR OIL: Must be brought to the DPW garage, Mon-Fri between 8 AM - 12 PM and 1 PM - 3 PM. Anyone caught not complying with this rule will be charged with illegal dumping. TIRES: All tires, without rims, must be brought to the Recycling Center. *Boilers/Water Heaters/Furnace need permit from Building Department before calling for appointment. Recycling needs to be put on the curb the night before scheduled pickup, not the day it is picked up.
