PROGRAMS….
May 3rd – Spring Luncheon
The luncheon is here and aren’t we all ready for some warm weather and fun with
friends? There will be no Stitch and Assist. We will begin our feast at 11:30 am, so bring
your dish by 11:00 am for pictures. Don’t forget to include a recipe card with your name,
address, and the name of your dish so that our friend Sherry Muchmore can put a little in
the Ponca City Newspaper. After the luncheon we will have a short general meeting and
Show ’N Share’. Please bring your heart pincushion table decoration(s) and get ready to
have a fun time!!
June 7th — Tula Pink Trunk Show
Tula Who? I graduated from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles,
with one degree in Graphic Design and one in Illustration. It was fun but I
was tired of being broke so I decided to get a job. I worked briefly as an Ex-
hibit designer for Museums in L.A. and when that became too quiet I relo-
cated to the music industry. After about 6 years of that my ears began to
bleed so I left California and went in search of a new home. The plan was to
move as far east as I could get without renting a boat and work my way back
west until I found a place I liked. I now live in a small mid-western town
where my closest neighbor is roughly four miles away. I have a cat that I
never see and a lawn that requires more attention than the cat.
My main function in life is fabric design. I live for it. Through all of the
moving and mind changing one thing was constant; fabric and sewing. I de-
signed my first collection in my living room, after work and on weekends.
The day I left my job in L.A. I sent it into Moda Fabrics and by the time I got
to Albuquerque it was in production. A few years and several collections
have passed since then. There will be many more to come.
Seeing my name on that selvage was the only thing that had been missing
from my professional life. So here I sit, an exiled rock princess on a throne of
bolts and bobbins. This space is where I tell my story and share whatever
there is to share about my world of fabric design and sewing.

Upcoming Workshop News
Beth Ferrier's workshop was a wonderful experience
for the 24 people who attended. I am asking everyone
who took it to bring their project to the May lunch-
eon so all can see what a neat project they made.
We are having another workshop in July so everyone
can sign up for it at the May luncheon. It is with
David Duwee of Derby, KS, on “Funfetti”. The cost
is only $25 and will be using scraps and fat quarters to
make a great project. The supply list will be given
when the payment for the workshop is received. It
will be the Tues. July 13, the day after our July meet-
ing.
Our only other workshop scheduled for this year is
October 5 by Antonio Munoz of Parsons, KS, on
Twisted Bargello, but watch for some local members
to be presenting some of their skills. Thanks to
everyone for supporting our workshop and my fantas-
tic assistant, Annette Latz. We have received 65 quilts
for Child Share and will continue taking them as they
are finished. Thanks to everyone for making this such
a successful project, Elaine Hughes Chairman
We are both looking forward to the upcoming year and all the wonderful programs and workshops that have been sched-
uled for the guild. It looks very exciting and we know a lot of work went into this so we could have a great year of won-
derful and very talented teachers for our programs and workshop for 2010-2011 year. The May luncheon should be loads
of fun with great food and fellowship to kick start our new year. Don’t forget to bring a new quilting friend and those
great flavor-lickin’ dishes to eat along with those recipes for the newspaper. There will be no general meeting or stitch
and assist but don’t forget to bring those beautiful show and shares we all love to see.
See you there,
Nancy and Cheryl
