The Teen Division offers a variety of free programs for teens ages 12-18 or grades 6th-12th. Don’t forget to also sign up for Beneath the Surface, our Teen Summer Reading Program,
and earn Library Bucks! For every 3 books you read you will receive an entry into our weekly drawing, where you have a chance to win great prizes. Just read 6 books, and you will
receive a cool backpack and more Library Bucks! You can also earn extra tickets by attending 3 programs or by completing a row on Bingo on your reading log!
Mario Kart

Catching Fire: Life-Sized Board Game

Play your way across the room in this life-sized board game, based on Suzanne Collins’ book Catching Fire. Answer trivia questions to earn character cards—the first to collect the set wins! But beware the black spaces, for almost certain death awaits those who land there!
Zombie Felties

Create a cute and creepy zombie feltie in celebra-tion of our summer reading theme, “Beneath the Surface!” Then, give your zombie a name and an awesome death story. Did your zombie have a taste for poetry in life that left him with a taste for poets after death? Is your zombie a vegan with a preference for grains rather than brains? You de-cide! At the end of the hour, we’ll all share our zombie tales.

Teens are invited to put a new spin on an old shirt! Join us as we create tie-dye t-shirts for a retro look. **Teens are required to bring their own t-shirt for this program.**
Fear Factor

Do you think you have what it takes to face your fears? Compete in Fear Factor at Central! Race to complete challenges involving the sticky, the icky, and the downright gross. Things will get messy, so teens should bring an extra change of clothes.
Rhymes, Rhythm, & Rock: Dave James

Join us for a special performance by Dave James! Dave James is a professional guitarist, singer, songwriter, and educator who has been working with Young Audiences for the past four years. He has been working in music for over 20 years and is proficient in many styles, including jazz, blues, country, rock and roll, and rhythm and blues. He also has performed with a number of different bands across Louisiana.
Beaded Earbuds

Add some personal style to your ear buds! We’ll show you how to decorate ear buds using Perler beads to give them an artistic flair. The library will supply the ear buds, but teens are welcome to bring a personal pair to decorate.
