    In 7th Heaven! While the 33rd Annual 10 Ten Track & Field Meet was a

    highlight in Glasgow yesterday, it was quite a stir when the

    Texas Flying Legends Museum utilized Wokal Field at the

    Glasgow/Valley County Airport to set their birds down for

    fuel before continuing to an air show in Minot. Local pilo

    Bob Lipscomb was in 7th Heaven as these rare, vintage

    WWII aircraft came buzzing in and Bob helped juice them

    up with fuel. More on the Flying Legends to come.

    Free Tree Day Thursday! What can we say? It’s almost Free Tree Day! Since this Valley County Free Tree Day

    began approximately 10 years ago, over 12,000 free trees have been distributed

    — thanks to the many sponsors, both businesses and individuals — to help make

    Valley County a greener place to live. Thursday, May 5th the Valley County MSU

    Extension Service and the Nashua Gumbo Gals will be handing out over 1,300 trees

    (ve trees per family) featuring Lilac, Chokecherry, Caragana, Silver Buffaloberry,

     American Plum, Red-Osier, Dogwood, and Blueleaf Honeysuckle. Free Tree Day

    starts at 7:30 a.m. on the east side of the Valley County Courthouse.

      Glasgow School District voters rejected a levyrequest in the amount of $28,886.72 for the schooldistrict’s general fund on uesday. Only 472 voters voted for the levy while a total of 581 voted against.

    According to Stan Ozark on KLZ’s news thismorning, this is only the second time in history that a

    Glasgow School District levy request was turned down.
