Pentecost Announcement—from Fr. Pat

My Dear Parishioners,

Why is this letter all in red? Because this Sunday is the Feast of Pentecost, and the color for the Feast of Pentecost is RED. Red is the liturgical color for the Holy Spirit.

So we are inviting everyone to wear red to church as much as possible this weekend.

This is a wonderful feast for us to celebrate as we begin to gather in church again. On Pentecost, the Holy Spirit called the Church into being with a rushing wind and tongues of fire. The Holy Spirit will fill us with fervor as we return to Mass after these long months. We will not be able to shake hands or embrace one another, but we can show how glad we are to be together.

PLASE REMEMBER TO WEAR RED TO MASS THIS WEEKEND.

See You Soon.

Be Well.

May 31, 2020 Pentecost FAQ’s continued from previous page If I have trouble hearing or seeing and need to sit up front, is that possible? Yes, but come early as we are seating beginning in the front. Tell the usher that you need to be seated up front. If I attend Mass the first week on a Saturday but can't attend at the same time the next Saturday, who should I contact so someone else can take my seat? We will not be facilitating this process as we start back to Mass. If I haven't signed up online in advance, can I show up to see if there are seats available? We strongly encourage everyone to sign up online at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040e49acae28a5fe3-paxchristi4. You can even sign up the morning of the Masses. If you do not have email or internet access, you can call the church office at 859-273-9999 to sign up. What happens if I arrive late to Mass? Will I be allowed to enter? Sorry, no. Please come early. I don't have a mask to wear. Can I attend? Yes, we will have masks to give out to those who do not have one. My kids are coming with me. Do they have to wear masks? Yes, all children should wear a mask unless they are under two years of age. Our crafters have made cloth masks for children and adults. I can't wear a mask because of a medical condition. What do I do? Sorry, but under those circumstances you should not attend mass at this time. Please watch the recorded Mass online. You can read the final question on the list for more specific details about the recording. Are we allowed to use the bathrooms in the church? Yes, but only one person can be in a bathroom at a time, unless you are helping your child. Only use the bathroooms upstairs. There will be Clorox wipes for you to wipe down anything you will be touching before and after (sink, hand rail, diaper changing station, paper towel dispenser, faucet, door handle, etc.). Do not flush the wipes in the toilet. Please throw them in the trash can. Is the cry room open? No, the cry room will be closed. Will the offering be collected? Baskets will be placed in one or two spots but there will be no passing of baskets. Are we supposed to respond to any greetings from Father Pat or Father Larry and recite the creed? Yes, only singing is omitted. How are we safely taking communion? We have several new measures in place to ensure communion is taken safely. What if I want to receive a blessing during communion? Is that allowed? Yes, we will explain how to do this during the Mass. Can I wear gloves? Yes, but you have to receive communion on your hand without a glove. What is the process for leaving church after the final prayer and blessing? We will dismiss by sections from back to front, and you will exit from the three single doors in the front. Ushers will direct you as how to leave Mass. Will the church still be open each day from 9 a.m.-2 p.m for private prayer? Yes it will, but it will depend on the daily Mass schedule. Will the church be open on Sunday afternoons for the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament? No, not for the first few weeks as Masses start again. This may change in following weeks. Are any weekday Masses happening? Yes, we will publish the weekday Mass schedule on our website, Facebook page and in the bulletin. Is there a weekly time for Confession? No, not yet. At this time, please contact Father Pat by email at [email protected] to set up a time. Since we can't use missals during Mass, how we can follow along? Most of the prayers are familiar. If you have your own book with the readings and prayers you may bring it. You also can download the myParish app on your phone that contains the readings and more. Are printed weekly bulletins available? No, not at this time. You can view the weekly bulletin online on our website. It is posted by Saturday of each week. When will the recorded Mass be available? How can I watch it? A Saturday Mass will be recorded each week and will be available on our website and Facebook page as a YouTube link each Sunday by 9 a.m. Subscribe to Pax Christi’s YouTube Channel and you will receive email notifications whenever we post a new video. There will not be a live stream of Mass at this time.

Church Offices...Ministries...Meetings...

Rejoice! Church is open! However, the basement will remain

closed for just a little longer. If you need to meet with Fr. Pat or

Melissa, please contact them via email or cell phone to make an appointment. We are trying to maintain a

safe environment for our staff as well as our parishioners. Masks are to be worn at all times while in the

church building. Temperatures will be taken, frequent hand washing and use of sanitizer, as well as

increased cleaning will be in effect to help ensure a safe environment. We encourage Ministries and

groups who use the church as a meeting place, to continue to gather and meet via Zoom. We are working

on a plan to safely re-open the basement and offices. Stay tuned as our plans can change daily as

information becomes available from the diocese and healthcare officials. We certainly look forward to the

day when we can fully reopen Church. Church is truly you, and me, and we, and all of us together! We are

one with Christ! Together, we are, and will always remain united together as Pax Christi!
