Anchorage May 7, 2011The event will begin and end at the Delaney Park Strip
(Between 9th and 10th Ave., West of L Street), Sign-in begins at 8:30 am. The official start follows the ribbon cutting ceremony at approximately 9:00 am. The route will travel South to Westchester Lagoon.
5K Walk— Walkers will follow the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail North to Elderberry Park and return to Delaney Park Strip for a total of 3.5 miles.
16K Roll— Bikers and rollerbladers can choose to follow the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail South to Postmark Drive and return to the Park Strip for a total of 10 miles.
Walk Lite— To avoid the hills of the Coastal Trail, participants will follow the Park Strip sidewalk.

42 Years of FUN... and Counting!In 1970, on the first Saturday in May, the Walk for
Hope began with over 4,500 walkers, raising $137,000. While the Walk for Hope has changed routes many times from its original 31 miles, the event has maintained the generous spirit of Alaska’s oldest walk.
