Administration Update Page 2

With the blink of an eye the 2014-2015 school year is coming to a close! We have accomplished so much this year, and we are so very proud of our students. Thank you for your continued support of our school and the investments you make in your children’s lives. We are grateful that we have such a supportive parent base that is willing to help in so many ways. Your commitment to reading with your child, volunteering endless hours, and your commitment to helping your child each and every night with his/her homework truly makes a significant difference in his/her education. This is what truly makes Craig the best school in Gwinnett County! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Students in grades 3-5 recently completed the Milestones Assessments and they did a fabulous job of “showing what they know”. In addition, students in K finished up their assessment, G-KIDS. We anxiously await the results of our efforts and know that our students did their best on the tests. The results for our 3rd – 5th grade students taking the Milestones Assessments should be back sometime in the fall. As we wrap up the last few weeks of school, our teachers and students are engaging in another STEAM unit, Field Days, and End of the Year Parties. These are extremely exciting times! We have numerous events planned for the month of May. We will begin the month by celebrating our wonderful staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. Please help us recognize their efforts. Our goal this summer is to encourage our students to read and do math every day. As a school, we are unveiling our C.A.R.E. (Craig Colts Read Everywhere!) summer reading program. We will be sending home information about C.A.R.E. after our last Mega Minutes Award Ceremony. In addition, we will open our Media Center this summer to our students. We will be sending home information with report cards. Additionally, we are in the process of preparing for the 2015-2016 school year. We will continue our efforts in developing critical thinkers and writers. We will encourage our students to become deeper thinkers and strengthen their writing across all content areas. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. Enjoy your May flowers and to all our mothers, have a Marvelous Mother’s Day! Sincerely,

Angie Wright
