    Fans who come out to see a Southern League game can expect a fun, aordable, and excing evening at

    any of our ballparks. How aordable is a Southern League game? Minor League Baseball esmates that the

    average cost for a family of four to see a game is $57. And for that money, fans can enjoy not only an excing

    baseball match between future Major League stars, but nd pleasure in delicious food choices and a variety

    of entertainment and events.

    Over 500,000 fans have already experienced the outdoor fun of one our games this year. League aendance

    has been steadily growing over the decades and the Southern League now welcomes over two million fansper season in our ballparks. Besides the chance to see talented prospects like Mike Stanton and Andrew

    Cashner in acon, all ten of our clubs have been working hard to provide a total experience when fans come

    through their gates.

    Our clubs like to provide fun for the whole family, especially the young ones. The Huntsville Stars are excited

    about their new Kidzone, an inatable source of joy for kids where they can pay just $2 to jump all night

    long. Tennessees Smokies Kids Club provides admission to twelve games and much more for only $25!

    For future baseball all-stars, some clubs have baseball camps and the chance to meet stars like Atlantas Dale

    Murphy, who will sign autographs at West Tenn on June 5th. West Tenn also oers a promoon during every

    Sunday, and Monday-Wednesday night games, where kids and seniors eat for free- included is a free hot

    dog, chips and a drink. Mascots like Chaanoogas Looie the Lookout and Mobiles Teddy Bear are always

    around to make sure kids are having a good me. There are also special shows for kids, like Jacksonvilles

    June 11th presentaon of Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey, featuring a real monkey performing a rodeo-style

    show! Whiplash is scheduled to appear three mes this summer.

    Some clubs are working extra hard to provide entertainment between innings. Mississippi has a DiamondDance Team who dances during three half innings of every game and helps out with other events like dizzy

    bat races and sumo wrestling. Mobile has a a Ninth -Inning Rave and Tennessee has their Rally Crew to help

    pump up the crowd. In fact, according to Rennie Leon, the Smokies Director of Markeng and Communica-

    ons, Smokies Park has some sort of promoon every single half-inning! Montgomery is even providing

    some post-game entertainment. Their Club Car Bar will remain open aer select Thursday Night games to

    feature regional music acts and $2 beers!For some clubs, this year is also about celebrang milestones.

    All season long, Carolina will be celebrang their 20th Anniversary in town, and they are looking forward

    to having their ve millionth fan walk through the turnsles. According to Assistant General Manager Eric

    Gardner, Carolina has also made some stadium improvements including some new eld lighng, which he

    says provide 30-40% more light on the eld, an improved sound system, and some new seang. Jacksonvilleis celebrang their 2009 Championship win all season long, with lots of give-aways, and merchandise with

    their new colors has been selling like crazy. Mobile also has an enrely new logo and is especially excited

    about the new Hank Aaron Childhood Home and Museum right on the grounds of The Hank.

    One of the great experiences of being at the ballpark is the food! No fan can deny the pure pleasure of a

    hotdog and a cold drink out in the open air. This season, the BayBears sarted their own concessions com-

    pany and created Hotdog Land where fans can get a dog almost any way imaginable. They have 14 toppings

    to choose from and they also have sh dogs, corn dogs, and mini dogs. Kyle Schoonover, Assistant General

    Manager, Concessions at The Hank is most proud of the Big Hank, their foot-long tribute to the hometown

    legend. Mississippi has expanded their concessions as well, to make fan favorites like hot dogs and ham-

    burgers as well as new favorites such as grilled chicken sandwiches, chicken nachos and sweet potato friesmore available to fans in more places. Plenty of promoons such as West Tenns Dollar Night, provide fans

    with savings. General Admission ckets, hotdogs, dra beer, soda and popcorn are all just $1 each Thursday,

    so going to a game is less than seeing a movie! Assistant General Manager Jason Compton says that Thurs-

    day aendance has gone up 120% since the start of Dollar Night.

    Carlos Peguero is on fre. With 14 RBI and a .367average this season, he is doing his best to bringin runs or West Tenn. Peguero stood out during ahard series against Huntsville, homering in the frstinning o game our, helping to end a fve-game

    losing streak. He also hit one o three back-to-

    back-to-back homers against Mobile in the fthinning o their opener against Mobile. e WestTenn slugger has hit six home runs this season witha .733 slugging percentage. A native o the Do-minican Republic, Peguero has been a rising star inthe Seattle Mariners organization since frst beingdrated in 2005.

    Allowing only one run in his six innings pitching toWest Tenn on the opening night o the Stars visit

    to Pringles Park, Amaury Rivas helped to land a9-2 victory. at night was his second o three wins

    this season, leading him to the top o the leaguewith a .78 ERA and 17 strikeouts. Born in Santa

    Cruz, Dominican Republic, Rivas has been work-

    ing his way through the Milwaukee Brewers systemsince 2005. In 2009, he had a career high 123 strike-

    outs with the Brevard County Manatees.

    With 12 home runs and 26 RBI, Mike Stanton ishaving a phenomenal season at the plate. He leadsthe league not only in home runs and RBI, but healso has the highest slugging percentage at .866as well as the most runs and the highest on basepercentage, at 25 and .505, respectively. In this last

    week Stanton homered in 4 out o 5 games againstMississippi and brought 11 runs to Jacksonvilleagainst Carolina and Mississippi. e Los Ange-

    les native was selected to play in the 2009 FuturesGame and is the Marlins #1 prospect.

    Alex Sanabia has pitched 30 strikeouts so ar thisseason in the 31 innings hes pitched. In Saturdays

    home game against Mississippi, he struck out 7batters. He allowed no runs rom Carolina andHuntsville in the 13 innings he pitched against

    them. Sanabia has one o the lowest ERAs in theleague at 1.15. e right-hander was born in San

    Diego, Caliornia and was drated by the Marlinsorganization in 2006.

    Leading a hitting attack against the Carolina Mud-cats, Corey Smith had his best week o the season,hitting a triple in the top o the 7th in Sundaynights game, and homering in the two previousnights games. He brought in two runs on Satur-day and our on Friday, standing out in a series

    where his team went 2-3. He has 19 RBI and a .591slugging percentage or the season. e Lookoutsthird-baseman was born in Plainfeld, NJ.

    With three wins and 35 strike-outs this season,Mauricio Robles is on a hot streak. His ten strike-

    outs on Saturday helped to hold back Huntsvilleor a 4-1 victory and sealed the ourth win in their

    fve game series. e lety pitcher was signed bythe Detroit Tigers in 2006 and joined the Mariners

    organization in 2009. He was born in Valencia,

    Venezuela.
