Our Services

• Commission Community Health Service for Maternity, Children and Young People– Special Educational Needs / Disability– Maternity– Childrens Community Services– Mental Health services

• Strategic link for Children and Young People services with the ‘health context’

• Work collaboratively with the Local Authority and partner agencies inc. Police, Social Care, Education

Commissioning Arrangements

Work collaboratively to develop strategic / operational approach to commissioning services:• NHS England• Public Health in the Local Authority • Birmingham City Council commissioners

Across a range of service providers including acute and community.

Maternity

Maternity Services• Antenatal Care• Intrapartum Care• Postnatal Care

Bethel Doula Project • Antenatal education and birth preparation

• On-call support as a birth partner

• Supporting clients in developing baby care skills

• Breastfeeding support

• Signposting to key agencies and public services

• Acting as an advocate for the mother, when dealing with key healthcare agencies• A mother’s group after the baby has been born

Disabled Children

• Short breaks provision – Access to facilities in the community – Respite care (Edgewood Rd)

• Equipment service Including third sector organisations being able to use equipment to support access to provision

• SEND – key requirements for health• MASH and CSE offer for the City• 0-25 Mental Health developments

Difference to local people

• Remove barrier of accessing statutory provision

• Increased access for groups that are harder to reach

• Understand the communities that they serve• Support wider provision in preventative

approaches that reduces demand on specialist services
