Material Master with Batch Management

1 Purpose

The material master data with Batch Management is used by the system to represent the product acompany is Procuring or producing. It is compiled in much the same way as the customer masterrecord using multiple views to represent the same material within the different areas of the business.For example, the plant view contains all the plant-specific material and can be different for eachplant in the organization.

1.1 Structure of Material Master with Batch Management

UseAll data and information entered for a material is stored in the data structure of the material masterrecord. For Purchasing, Basic data and purchasing data in the material master record are relevant.

Basic Data is common for the material and is created only once.

Purchasing Data is divided into Purchasing and Purchase Order Text View

Plant data:This data applies to a plant / Centre.

Classification: This View is Contain Batch Classification Information.

1.2 Material Types for Batch Management

Use

Materials with Batch Management the same basic attributes are grouped together and assigned to amaterial type. This allows managing different materials in a uniform manner in accordance withRequirements.

3 Process Steps

3.1 Create Material Master with Batch ManagementUse

In this activity, you create a Material Master in SAP System.

Procedure

1. Access the transaction choosing one of the following navigation options:

3.2 Change Material Master for Batch Management

Use

In this activity, you change a Material Master in SAP System.

Procedure
