• TEA is potentially adopting edTPA in Fall of 2021• edTPA is performance-based assessment• UTSA is partnering in a pilot program• Clinical and residency students pursuing certification in EC-6 (Core, Bilingual,

and ESL) who have not passed the PPR by August 24, 2020 will have to complete edTPA

PPR & OTHER EXAMS• Results for each exam are reported as a score in the range of 100–

300. • 240 is the minimum passing score. CORE SUBJECTS

�Reported as a pass or not pass�You must earn a passing score for each individual subject area in

order to pass the overall test. � Individual subject test (test codes 801–809) are reported as a score in

the range of 100–300, with a total scaled score of 240 as the minimum passing score.

• You are only allowed 5 times to pass the test.• If you need to retake the test you must wait 45 days to retake the

test.

CORE SUBJECTS

• If you do not pass the Core Subjects you can choose to either retake only the Domains you did not pass or the entire test.• Note: Each time you take a test (whether it is the overall test or just an

individual subject test) counts as one administration of the test.

• You must wait 45 days to take the individual subject tests.

• It is recommended that students take the exams prior to beginningclinical teaching• In order to take a test you must receive approval to take the test from

the UTSA TExES office• You must complete the following in order to receive approval:• Complete a diagnostic test (if applicable)• Attend a review session• Take a practice test

• Once a student has completed the requirements, they must submit an eligibility form to receive approval to test.
