DESCRIPTION
ISSUES CONCERNING HOMELESSNESS: AS UNDERSTOOD THROUGH THE LENS OF ARCHITECTURE: The idea of a mixed used development, making those homeless as a part of the community. Generally, all the mixed use development involve low income or medium income class, my challenge as a designer was to better the situation of those homeless. Most of the homeless shelters are secluded or it is a gated building on a remote site. The whole intent of my thesis was to provide better facilities, welcoming those homeless, and also a design facility that caters to the public in Over-The-Rhine neighborhood, Cincinnati. This project has made me more passionate and I aspire to be a socially responsible architect.
