Process Defines what people do; documents roles and responsibilities for specific steps that are executed; uses inputs to accomplish a purpose, usually work products or services; sequential, related work activities and tasks that focus on accomplishing a specific objective:

Defined starting and ending points for each work unit

Combination of people, technologies, raw materials, methods, and environments to create a product, deliver a service, or accomplish an interim milestone

Process Activities Major actions within a process that are documented as a series or sequence of steps.

Process Asset Any developed process, procedure, or job aid used by EDS NMCI personnel to support the NMCI contract; documentation that relates to describing, implementing, and improving processes (for example, policies, measurements, process descriptions, process standards, models, frameworks, life cycles, and process implementation support tools).

Process Author Responsible for developing or updating a process asset; presents the process asset documentation in a Peer Review; responds to reviewer questions; participates in document improvement discussions; and applies changes to the document after the Peer Review.

Process Business Rules

Guidelines or formulas that dictate the structure of an activity within a process (for example, design reviews must occur during the 10 days before AOR).
