We are living stones aligned with Christ, the cornerstone. Let the Church rejoice as we, the living body of Christ, have recently welcomed many sisters and brothers, new members of the household of faith. Let us encourage those newly joined to us in the sacraments of baptism and confirmation to fully live their new identity as part of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.

An Act of Spiritual Communion Prayer My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

Look upon your flock, kind Shepherd. Though bowed down by our human frailty in the dark valley of this pandemic, we fear no evil, for you are with us, you hear us, and you comfort us. Grace with the wisdom of your Spirit political

and religious leaders helping us. Guide with strength health care workers aiding the sick and dying. Give consolation to

families and friends suffering with loved ones. Grant courage to all – from first responders to those who put food

on our tables – providing essential services and the necessities of life. In this time of darkness and uncertainty, O God, may we be beacons of your goodness and mercy

to all in need. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen

notre fragilité humaine dans la sombre vallée de cette pandémie, nous ne craignons aucun mal, car tu es avec nous, tu nous entends et tu nous réconfortes. Accorde la

sagesse de ton Esprit aux dirigeants politiques et religieux qui nous aident. Guide avec force les travailleurs de la

santé aidant les malades et les mourants. Donne du réconfort aux familles et aux amis qui souffrent avec des êtres chers.

Donne du courage à tous - des premiers intervenants jusqu’à ceux qui mettent de la nourriture sur nos tables - fournissant

les services essentiels et les nécessités de la vie. En ces temps de ténèbres et d'incertitude, ô Dieu, puissions-nous être des phares de ta bonté et de ta miséricorde pour tous

Consecration of Canada and the United States to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the

Church

On May 1st at 12 noon, Bishop Fabbro and Bishop Dabrowski joined in the Consecration of Canada and the United States to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, in time of pandemic. Our bishops participated in the consecration to entrust us to the care and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary, that we may benefit from her powerful intercession.

« Les enfants : le couronnement du mariage » On peut voir le mystère de l’amour de Dieu dans le mariage et la famille, qui sont une icône de la Trinité. L’amour entre mari et femme peut, par la grâce de Dieu, porter fruit dans la bénédiction d’un nouvel enfant. Dans le don d’une vie nouvelle, les parents deviennent cocréateurs avec Dieu. Nous pouvons dire que les enfants sont le couronnement du mariage. Quel parent ne se réjouit pas des réussites de son enfant? Quel parent ne veut pas ce qu’il y a de meilleur pour son enfant? Le pape François nous exhorte à « soigner votre vie familiale, en donnant à vos enfants et à vos proches non seulement de l’argent, mais surtout du temps, de l’attention et de l’amour ». La meilleure façon pour nous de prendre soin de nos enfants est sans doute de les aider à grandir dans la foi. De cette façon, nous les aidons à rencontrer Jésus, qui, avec son Esprit, nous envoie dans le monde pour révéler l’amour du Père pour tous ses enfants.

PRIÈRE Jésus, Tu es le Fils éternel du Père;

donne-nous ton Esprit pour que nous puissions vivre comme des enfants de Dieu notre Père.

Aide-nous à chérir nos enfants en leur transmettant la foi pour que, comme familles chrétiennes,

nous vivions en plénitude, rayonnant la gloire de Dieu pour le salut du monde. Amen

“Children: The Crowning Glory of Marriage” The mystery of God’s love can be seen in marriage and the family which is an icon of the Trinity. The love between a husband and wife can, by the grace of God, bear fruit in the blessing of a new child. In the gift of new life, parents become co-creators with God. We can say that children are the crowning glory of marriage. What parent does not rejoice in their child’s achievements? What parent does not want the best for their child? Pope Francis reminds us: “Take care of your family life, giving your children and loved ones not just money, but most of all your time, attention and love.” Perhaps the best way we can take care of our children is to help them grow in faith. In this way we help them to encounter Jesus who with his Spirit sends us into the world to reveal the Father’s love for all of his children.

PRAYER Jesus, you are the Eternal Son of the Father, impart your Spirit to us so that we may live

as children of God, our Father. Help us to cherish our children

by passing on the faith so that as Christian families we may be fully alive, radiating God’s glory

for the salvation of the world. Amen
