A parish, a family of faith, should be a place where everyone feels at home and yet we know in practice this does not always happen. Sometimes we are aware of the divisions we create, other times we do it without thinking much about it. The Canaanite woman in the Gospel this week knows that she does not belong among God’s holy people and yet she still has faith that Jesus would heal her daughter. Once Jesus realizes the depth of her faith, he grants her the miracle she is looking for. Jesus came to save me, he came to save you, he came to save everyone. Although none of us did anything to merit this gift, Jesus welcomed us into his life of grace. REST IN PEACE

~ DR. HUGH J. COLEMAN VMD ~

Husband of Eleanor

“Eternal Rest Grant Unto Him, O Lord, and Let Perpetual

Light Shine Upon Him. May All the Souls of the Faithful

Departed, Through the Mercy of God, Rest in Peace. Amen.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Let us build a house where love can dwell, and all can safely live,

A place where saints and children tell how hearts learn to forgive.

Built of hope and dreams and visions, Rock of faith and vault of grace.

Here the love of Christ shall end divisions: All are welcome, all are welcome,

all are welcome in this place.

We’re all very familiar with the words to this hymn. When we join our voices in singing these words, I would hope that our prayer would be sincere. A parish, a family of faith, should be a place where everyone feels at home and yet we know in practice this does not always happen. Too often we separate ourselves by age, by ethnic background, by the organizations we belong to, and even by who is from the area or not.

Knowing this, how could we not do everything in our power to make sure all feel welcome, loved, and forgiven in our parish family. Peace, Fr. Steve

CONSTRUCTION NEWS – This past week the expansion project became a reality. With the plotting out of the layout of the structure, the temporary fencing, movement of the building trailer onto the property and the many other “happenings” related to the construction, the parish grounds are transforming! It is important at this time to

ask for everyone’s patience during these coming months– especially in this beginning timeframe of the project. We are all still getting used to the disruption of what has been a pretty routine flow of traffic and operation. The drop off/pick-up area will be altered somewhat and parking spaces will be slightly reduced. Since we have the space, and if necessary, you may park on the grass behind the paved area going towards the garage. Please be careful as much as possible. For our less mobile parishioners and visitors, help where you can especially if they need assistance to any entrance/exit areas. As the construction progresses, some of these new items could possibly change and we will make everyone aware of those changes.

All parish youth from second grade to eighth grade are

invited to sing in the St. Peter Junior Choir! Please

save the following dates and plan to share your gifts of

time and talent with our parish. If you have any
