DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that Jesus wants to fill you in the morning with his love? He just needs you to sit down and listen. Did you know that Jesus wants to re-lease you from the shackles of sin? He just needs you to go to confession. Did you know that Jesus wants to give you peace during the week? He just needs you to come to Church on Sunday. See, Jesus constantly fulfills Isai-ah’s prophesy of being the one to “dispel darkness” by “a great light” and take away “gloom where …there was distress” (Isaiah 8:23-9:3). Jesus went around then, as he does today, calling ordinary people (disciples) to “come after me” in order to begin bringing about great light and abundant joy through “teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of the king-dom and curing every disease and illness among them” (Matthew 4:23). To-day, maybe it is the lector proclaiming the Word at Mass that is liken to be-ing the one teaching you in the “synagogue.” Maybe it is your best friend that God is using to “proclaim the gospel” of what you need to embrace and what you need to let go of. Your doctor, nurse or loving spouse may be the instrument of Jesus’ “curing your every disease and illness.” Jesus Christ is constantly calling people to “come after” Him in order that He can work through them to reach out to each of us in “dispelling darkness” and bring about “a great light”. Look around. Listen. Pay attention. Did you know that there are people around you responding to the Lord and he has them reach-ing out to you?
