    A Guide to Making Your Booth a Success!

    Working booths is one of the most fun ways to meet new people. The great thing about a boothis that the potential customercomes to you!!!

    If you need more leads, take it on yourself to go find a booth for you and your team to worktogether.

    Places to find booth opportunity might include: your local newspaper, your local chamber ofcommerce, community bulletin boards, and internet searches for local areas and events. Andjust talking to people that may have information you can benefit from. If you find an event andyou feel it is to expensive for you call your Director and see if she will take it on.

    Dress Code:

    Its important to dress professional. In our area we wear the Black and Pink Beauty Coatthat the company offers at MK Connections for $35.00. With that you will wear a black

    skirt; it must not be more than an inch above the knee . You will want to wearcomfortable cute black closed toe dress shoes. If all you have are black open toed dressshoes that will be fine for now until you can purchase a new pair for working booths. Bywearing the beauty coat you and the person working the booth with you will present aprofessional image to everyone going through the show. You should only wear your nametag on your beauty coat. If you dont have a name tag you can wear your Mary Kay pin. NOOTHER PINS Be sure you look sharp! We may be the only Mary Kay someone willevery meet and we want to make a great impression. One thing I remember learning in mybusiness is: We only get one chance to make a GREAT First Impression. By the waywe always get positive feed back from the crowd about how professional we look!

    Common courtesy: Be early to your shift. I always recommend that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your

    shift. Go to the booth and say hi to the consultants working. Now they know youre thereand that they will be able to leave on time. You can set any excess items you brought underthe display table and walk around and get familiar with the layout, such as food court andbathrooms.

    Each shift usually has two consultants scheduled together. Be courteous and take turnsgetting leads. Going back and forth, she gets one then you get one so that its even and fair.If either one of you gets a lead who already has a consultant then that does not count as a leadand that consultant gets another chance at getting a good lead. You can let that person with a

    consultant enter so she doesnt feel left out but you will not be calling her. If a group ofwomen come to the booth that are all together keep them together by having them sign upwith only one consultant. Other wise youre both going to have a problem when it comes toscheduling these women and not stepping on each others toes. The next group of womenwill go to the other consultant.

    Do not bring food and beverages into the booth or talk on your cell phone during your shift.The only exception is a bottle of water and even that needs to be concealed under the table.If you need to take a break and grab something to eat just let your booth partner know andthen find somewhere away from the booth to get your snack.

    Anything that isnt part of the display should be out of sight. Your business cards andbooks should be off to the side under one of he side tables in a neutral looking basket or

    container. Any kind of wrappers or trash lying around the booth distracts from the overallappearance that we are trying to present so be sure to keep it picked up while you are there.(Potential customers sometimes leave garbage behind)

    Also please be mindful that the person who set the booth up will want it kept the way theydesigned it. If you have a great idea of how it should look just make a note of that for yournext booth that youre in charge of.

    At the end of each day the last shift will need to cover the display. DO NOT Take thedisplay apart, just cover it There will be white table clothes provided under the maindisplay table in the large clear plastic bin. If there are any vases with flowers or foliage theydo not need to be covered, just the products. (Also cover Kissology board - handle with care)At the beginning of each shift take the cloths off the display and set up anything that wasknocked over, put cloths back in the bin.

    For your success:

    Stand at the entrance of the booth each of you on either side as to not block the view ofpeople walking by. Do not sit inside the booth or at or behind the table. Keep your leadforms in your hand so you can hand them to prospective customers. Always have a smile on

    your face As people walk by be sure to greet them. When playing Kissology ask them ifthey want to find out their Kiss personality!!! Or would you like to Play Kissology? Oncethey have finished with that you can hand them the survey sheet so they can enter into yourdrawing. This is how you will get their information to call them for an appointment. Whennot playing Kissology you may say something like, Hi! We are having a drawing for$25.00 in FREE Mary Kay, would you like to enter to WIN?! If they say no, smile and thankthem and ask the next person. Remember even if you dont think anyone is watching you,you need to always be professional and not let any negative feelings show. A YES is rightaround the corner!!!

    Stamp the back of your lead sheets with your information prior to the event so that after youand your partner have finished your shift you can easily separate your leads.

    Only spend 2 to 3 minute with each person, you dont want to miss out on anyone walkingby. Dont worry you will have time to build repore with each person at their appointment!Have her give you her entry, then write a quick note so you will remember who she is whenyou call her.

    Give a gift and keep it simple. (Not necessary when doing Kissology) I use the MK smallproduct bag with some color samples that are no longer in the line or color cards from aprevious promotion. Same with books, use any look or beauty books that are old, its a greatway to move them. Put in your business card, some candy (if allowable by the show) and acoupon to get together for a complimentary facial and some free products! Be sure you make

    up enough and that you make them a couple days prior to the show. Please dont stressyourself out and try to make them the night before or the day of. Another great idea for a giftis roses, you can get 2 dozen at Costco for $14.99 and hand those out with your card. Onething we have found is that when you give out Roses other vendors ask where they got themand the women always remember it was from the Mary Kay Booth!

    If during your shift you experience slow times with very few people coming through you canstart networking with the other vendors. Go see them at their booth and offer them whatyoure offering to everyone else. Be sure you dont interrupt them if they have a customer orif someone is walking by their booth while youre talking to them, step back and let them dowhat they are there for.

    When designing your own booth be sure to keep your space simple yet beautiful, you want itto be inviting and the women to be naturally drawn in.

    What to bring:

    Look Books or Beauty Books, business cards, survey sheets, ink pens, gift certificates orsome sort of gift. Bring your beauty coat, name badge, a great attitude and a big smile! Nowyou are ready for a successful show!

    Important!

    Be sure to call your leads within 24-48 hours!However you dont want to discard your leads if you arent able to get a hold of them rightaway. Get some sort of filing system that works for you and keep notes on each lead everytime you call them. Log what time of day you called, whether you left a message or not, whoyou talked to and if they said to call back then make of note of when to call them again. Ithas been proven that the consultant that calls back 5 times or more gets more booking andmore sales. Persistence pays off!
