Marty’s Party Marty Putz Photo by Jim Stimpson Synopsis Parent’s, tired of sing-alongs and stuffed characters? Then this is a MUST SEE show for you and your family. Loaded with gizmos, gadgets and weird inventions, Canadian Marty Putz and his madcap comedy show has been labelled the “Jackass for seven year olds” He’s infectious and fun, cheeky & charming, and kids can’t get enough of him. Full of audience participation, you’d better warm up your vocal chords and stretch your throwing arm. This 60 minutes plus of mayhem will have you hurling, ducking, screaming, laughing…and most fun of all, you’ll be doing it as a family. Parental Warning: You yourself may act like a 10 year old. “Putz’s comedy style is rare & zany. His infectious enthusiasm creates an appeal for an audience of all ages. It is impossible to be bored at a Putz show. Synopsis Kookoo is a kind and well-loved kookaburra who is famous for entertaining the other bush creatures with his funny stories. One day Kookoo runs out of kind stories to tell, and he turns to teasing and making fun of the other animals. Refusing to listen to the sage advice of his uncle, Kookoo finds himself alone and ignored by his friends. When he listens to the sound of his own laughter, it is an unhappy sound. Finally he remembers his uncle’s words “Kindness is like a boomerang – if you throw it often, it comes back often...

Kookoo Kookaburra is a morality tale – set within the cultural context of the Dreamtime – by Queensland teacher Gregg Dreise. He is a descendant of the Kamilaroi and Yuwalayaay people of south-west Queensland and north-west New South Wales. Author Gregg Dreise recently won the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Award for 2015.

“An important message about the power of words and the importance of being kind. This is a wonderful core for so many curriculum units in Humanities and Social Sciences, Health, English, Dreaming Stories, Art and jus for sharing” Rhyllis Bignell, Audience Review

  • Barbara & Barry’s Sweet, Sour & SaucyWestern-Dyer Productions

Synopsis Pull up a cabaret seat and step into 2111-EAD, the home radio studio of self-appointed “experts on love” Barbara and Barry (aka real life couple Melissa Western and Tnee Dyer). This vintage Aussie duo run a radio talkback show, Sweet, Sour & Saucy, from their lounge room delivering well-intentioned, yet questionable love advice. B&B love getting up close and personal with their audience and every night is heady mix of silly love aids, match making and of course a wedding to top it all off. It’s a hilarious jazz-cabaret with “quality all the way” (East Coast FM UK) featuring adorable songs by Eartha Kitt, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Nat King Cole and more.

    “Warm, witty and supremely talented” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Broadway Baby

Combining virtuosic piano playing, strong and sultry vocals, rich harmonies and inventive accompaniment (ukulele, washboard, spoons, trombone kazoo, tap dancing) Barbara and Barry end up being everyone’s favourite Love Agony Aunt and Uncle. B&B have been a five star hit at the Edinburgh Fringe, toured right throughout Queensland and hosted cabarets across the UK.
